I think he's a pretty steady defender, which is more what I wanted than another defenseman like Moore or Warsofsky (or however you spell that's train wreck's name). Assuming that he is that steady defenseman and the price is reasonable, I'm fine with this move.

It's July 1st, we don't get him signed without the 3 year term. It's just the way things go. But that's not the worst amount of years out there, he's still 32 years old and we needed a RHD. As long as the AAV isn't too bad then whatever, just a necessary deal and we avoid overpaying for other guys on a longer term.
