Cory played decently well on all plays that counted. As a whole it was worse. Got bailed out big time on the offisides by a simple wrist shot from the point.... weak goal 1. In the 3rd was bailed out again with a very quick whistle even though cory lost possession (couldn't catch the puck near his chest and dropped it right in front... have the ref not lost sight of it, it was a layup for the lightning who actually put the puck in, which would've been weak goal number 2 (par for the course for cory the last 2 seasons).

Goal 1 wasn’t weak. He had as much of the net as you could ask. It was a damn good shot.

The disallowed goal would have been weak, but in the end it didn’t count so shouldn’t really be held against him.

Goal 2 was on Severson.

Blaming him for a play that had a quick whistle is just beyond asinine. Definition of bias.

If Cory got destroyed last night, I wouldn't hesitate to put Keith back in, but I think Cory has played well enough to get the next start.

One guy has given up 9 goals in 91 minutes, the other has given up 4 goals in 143 minutes. I don't care whether the team showed up for Kinkaid or not, it's a no brainer who should get the next start, and that's Cory.

Personally, I think the goalie I feel played better should get the start regardless of goals against, but that's just me.

Nah, not really a no brainer when you're down 3-1 and your back is against the wall. Change things up. Kinkaid allowed maybe 1 or 2 bad goals in the 1st two games. The way I see it there is a slim chance of the Devils winning this series, just as there was a slim chance of them making the playoffs. Send a nod to the guy who got you here.

Actually, just start Cory. It's not fair to throw Kinkaid in for 3 away games against the best eastern conference team.

Corey's stopped some goals he shouldn't have, but let in a few I think he should have gotten. Kinky was solid but hung out to dry, but only made fewer "spectacular" saves.

I guess I lean towards Kinkaid if the team can play in front of him like they did for Corey the last 2 games. Also, Corey's gaffs handling the puck is just infuriating. Not having to see that would help calm my nerves.

He didn’t let in any goals on Wednesday he should have gotten outside of one that didn’t count.

He held the best offense in the league to 2 goals with only 5 D playing in front of him.

Yeah, if it means giving us a better chance to win. Look, I get that the second goal didn't count on the scoreboard, but it had an impact.
I get that severson was puck watching on goal #2, but Cory was pretty deep on that as well .

The only sample size that vouches for Cory is are the last two games. We had the winningest goaltender in the league over the past few months and his name wasn't Cory. I don't know why they don't win with him. I wish they did, because appearances indicate they should. But they never have, in 5 years and the fault lies mutually with the team and with him.

Cory cannot score goals for the Devils. He can only prevent goals from being scored by the Lightning.

By the way, I'm not saying that Cory is completely back to his old self either. He still looks like he's fighting it sometimes, but the fact is he's made the saves he's needed to to give us a chance these last couple games (you know, the thing the "save percentage doesn't matter" crowd crows about all the time).

Quite frankly I could care less who the better goalie was down the stretch. I care about who the better goalie has been in this series against this team, and there's no question that it's been Cory. If the goals he gave up were all absolutely terrible, maybe you'd have an argument for going back to Kinkaid. As it is though, I really don't see how you can justify not starting Cory on Saturday.
