Maybe just maybe it'll take being benched for big down the stretch games and playoff games to finally get it through his thick skull. Maybe.

He's had issues during practices too in the past for being lazy and eventually bag skated. I wish I could pull up some of those old TG articles. This has been going on for a long time, just never seems to stick.

Based on what? Don't make baseless claims.

On a messageboard? Perish the thought.

All I'm saying is that Severson has had all season and is still making mistakes he shouldn't be making as a defenseman. The only conclusion I can see is that any teachings from Hynes seems to "go in one ear and out the other".

And even if he is benched, it won't change a thing if he's not learning anything. It's possible he just might also be tuning out Hynes and doing his own thing, hence the "primadonna" comment.

Again, this is all Speculation on my part because Speculation is what happens on a messageboard, you know?

Based off of the last 10 or so pages I just read I wouldn't have thought this was a playoff team. What's tomorrow's debate? There hasn't been a good"Stonehands" Zajac debate in a while :sarcasm:

It’s obvious that Hynes has lost confidence in him. No sure how Shero feels, however, I think it’s 50-50 he’s here for the start on next season. I’m not sure it’s best thing for him to move on and get a fresh start.

Apologies for the lateness of this if it was already talked about, but was there an explanation as to why we sat a bunch of the starters yesterday when we could have gotten a better seed if we won that game and things played out in our favor with other teams losing (as they wound up doing so in hindsight)?

I understand wanting to give players a rest, but with the possible opportunity to get home ice and play a lesser rank, not that it necessarily means much as all bets are off in the playoffs, but regardless, I was a little surprised. You play to win.

Without looking much into it otherwise, don't understand the reasoning too much and was wondering what the general opinion on that was here.

There was no chance to get home ice yesterday, the result was only gonna change the road series. The highest we would have gone after the Pens beat Ottawa on Friday was 3rd in the Metro and playing the Pens on the road. Not much sense in going all out just to change the road series playing one pretty good team over another.

There was no home ice possibility at all with our game yesterday. The highest we could have finished is Metro 3 which starts on the road.

They don't care who they play and Hynes gave each of the top players the choice to play or sit, and most decided that it was better to get rested up.

And they didn't just rest players, they got another game in for Schneider, they gave guys like Zacha and Wood a chance to be the feature forwards, Bratt looked good, etc. etc.

Much better to have a game like that than like what Boston is going through right now. I think I just saw McAvoy get kneed in the head by a ref.

Hope Devils marketing and advertising hypes up our playoffs all over tv/radio/digital/social media starting tomorrow since we will have our opponent and schedule set.

I think there was a rational and thoughtful discussion on the main boards. Something about the Devils throwing the game on purpose so they wouldn’t play the Pens. You should really check it out if you subscribe to conspiracy theories.

I see, thanks for the explanations, have been out of the loop the past week or so and didn't have a chance to look into those specifics.

Sounds about right
