Unless I read wrong McEachen doesn't have a sex offense, it's a disorderly conduct. However, I wonder if whatever happened kept him from playing US college hockey?

I was joking.

And then there's Jiri Tlusty....He's a borderline sex offender as well.

I understand you were joking. But your joke just didn't make sense (even as a joke) so I was wondering if I was missing something as to other players being convicted of crimes that I may have missed. that's all.

It doesn't specifically say it, but I think it can be inferred from that article:

The guilty plea is classified as a violation in New York State, which means Mr. McEachen does not have a criminal record and he is free to cross the Canada-United States border, according to the elder McEachen.

Mr. McEachen also received a one-year conditional discharge and is prohibited from enrolling at Clarkson, where he received a scholarship and enrolled last year.

My guess is that no other US University would consider him after that.

...the key being creativity....it was really about the only shot that had a chance....and he roofed it.

Hope he's got that "show up" in his game. It has the potential to solve some of our problems. If Boychuk and McGinn make the big club, and demonstrate that they belong (especially Zach in a scoring role), then that opens up a lot of possibilities.

Reading the HF write-up on the Canes draft, I guess I never realized that Fleury was named the best defenseman in the U18 World Juniors. Nedeljkovic also excelled in that tournament. While not a barometer for future success, it's nice to see some of our prospects/draftees be the best of the best in those international tournaments.

Velluci also mentioned that Wesley was Plymouth's "Best defender". I never watch him and don't know the team, so not sure if he was just blowing smoke now that he's drafted by the Canes, but seems odd as Alex Peters was on the team also.

Vellucci said Wesley was Plymouth’s best defender last season, playing against the opposition’s best forwards each night. His steady and simple game is reminiscent of his father

Francis went to that tournament so I guess we shouldn't be surprised he picked players that excelled in it.

I know some were questioning why no Tolchinsky and Karlsson. Not sure if this was reported earlier, but from Mike Smith on the Canes Website:

Francis said that Tolchinsky will be taking part in the Russian World Junior camp, held around the same time as Prospects Development Camp.

“If he came here, he would miss some of that,” Francis said. “And, there’s a new [Russian] coach, so we let him go there.”

Some of you also asked about 2012 draft picks Erik Karlsson and Collin Olson.

Karlsson, who signed a three-year, entry-level contract in May, will play in Sweden again this season. Francis and company felt it wasn’t necessary to bring him back stateside after he attended the team’s last two summer development camps.

Olson has also attended the previous two development camps. And, just as in practice, there will only be two nets available during Prospects Development Camp. Daniel Altshuller, who signed a three-year entry level contract in December, and Alex Nedeljkovic, who the Canes drafted 37th overall this year, will command most of the attention. Additionally, newly named goaltending coach David Marcoux will not be present having just been hired.

Ya that makes perfect sense for our goalie coach not to be there.

It's like 3 days of mostly off-ice workouts with prospects who won't see NHL ice this year. Marcoux was hired the day before yesterday and still has to physically move here. It's understandable he wouldn't rush to get 20 critical minutes with Altshuller.

what do you think are the chances that a player like brock mcginn could score a goal like that in an nhl game?

I have no idea. But I am not going to fall for it. So please be courteous to others on this board and stop trolling. Thank you.
