Well-earned promotion and a good sign for the future. While at Merrimack he had to be creative finding and identifying players from various areas to compete with schools that had far greater resources; attracting players from places like California, Western Canada, France, Finland and other lesser known hockey regions to a small school in Massachusetts.

Those pipelines and connections should serve him well in this new role.

Both and neither, I think.

It’s a shift into a different role but one that can also be valuable but it probably has less earning potential in the near future.

So it depends on if he really wanted to go into scouting. If he didn’t then he will go back coaching somewhere else eventually.
