    Interesting. I wonder if Mike Eaves turned down the position. It wouldn't surprise me if he did since the past WJC team was much like his own, having coached almost all the players either at the USNTDP or the U-18 championships. Thoughts?

    I think it has more to do with the fact that the games will be played in North Dokata then anything to do with Eaves.

    I agree. In a way, it could be an advantage, albeit a limited one since the U.S. will be playing on Blais' "home rink." Besides, it's not as if he doesn't have the experience or pedigree to do a great job. I'm already pumped for next year's tourney!

    The 2005 WJHC begins on December 25th, the USA face-off against Russia in their first game and if the U.S. are in the Gold Medal Game they will be playing on January 4th.
