Not surprised, we would have traded him for a 7th rounder in 2022 at the deadline. Teams had zero interest in him.

he could probably have earned an NHL spot this year, via PTO or something on a 2way contract. but overseas == security and probably more money.

He will definitely kill it in the KHL. Skilled player just doesn't have the physical attributes to be a successful top 6 player in the NHL and hardly makes sense in a bottom 6 grinding role.
