I don't get the Krejci hate, but I guess Heinen is the shiny new toy that everyone loves. Until............
Yah but look at Blake the Fake.

We were both wrong on him he turned into a star

Heinen is a heck of a player not sure he puts up Wheeler points but 60 and good 3 zone smart game looks realistic

Once Heinen leads the league in playoff points twice I’ll start comparing him to Krejci. Until then, he’s definitely becoming a favorite of mine, such a smart player.

I do get the comparison of hockey IQs to Krejci, both play a cerebral game.

Until what? He isn't the shiny new toy, he is a young player that was a lower round pick who is turning into a decent player for us. Based on the way his game has come along this past year there is reason to be optimistic about what he might turn into- a Loui Eriksson comp perhaps?

By the way, I saw a lot of Brent Hughes back when he coached the Austin IceBats- it just now hit me about your username and avatar picture
I think Heinen is going to be better than Eriksson. I have become a Heinen fan, the kid has talent.

Brent Hughes was a guy who lacked talent but was all heart.

How was I wrong about Wheeler? What does he have to do with Heinen?

I think three zone and 75 someday is possible. I'm not a Heinen hater by any means so I am totally unsure where you're headed here.

I don't know if the point totals will ever come from Heinen but I think you will see him become a core player on this team that will be relied upon in every situation for years to come. Would actually like to see him player center. I know he has played every forward position.

He has to be in the Calder talks as at least an Honorable mention. Complete 200 foot game, kid has the Savard gift for passing. What a steal in the 4th round. A small 5'5" BCHL player and our scout noted his play and we grabbed him.

The kids going to be a great player. He's already way better than I ever thought he would top out at.

I disagree with those who suddenly think he plays physical. He peels off almost every check and is not totally willing to take a hit to make a play. He needs to add 15 lbs of muscle.

honestly he seams better than I thought he would be too... still a rather limited number of games to judge on. certainly didn't look as good last year.

I'm glad though he looks the real deal. whether we end up trading him or keeping him, his value has gone up a lot in either scenario.

I like trying to guess what might happen... and honestly I don't really care if I'm wrong as long as the team is right. I still see a simple numbers game where not every kid can stay. its going to be painful to watch any of our top 3-5 kids being moved. but its good that they are building their value before they are moved

I honestly like heinen more than Bjork. I think Bjork might have higher upside but I think heinen is suited to be the more consistent performer and more of a bruin type of player.

I like debrusk more than either of these guys but all 3 look like legitimate top 6 wingers to me.

and from what ive seen of cehlerik I like him too

with marchand and pastrnak ahead of any of these 4 guys... there will be a numbers game... they will all deserve to be paid in a couple years... the future has no room for all 6 of these top end wingers.

but its a great problem to have

Heinen was completely invisible last year , kind of amazing how much he has improved . Debrusk looks like a classic Bruins type winger while Bjork just might be the most physically skilled of the three but is behind the other two from a developmental point of view .

it was clear he was a kid who was overwhelmed and not yet ready for prime time. He is also an example of why fans need to be more patient with a player. The comments on here during his early season stint with the B`s and then for the majority of the year made it sound like this kid was a half decade away from being a fringe 4th liner.

I don`t get to see PB games so I can`t comment on his development but based on comments I have read here and by reading Mark Divver articles about the team, it was sure sounding like his game was improving with each passing game then he exploded offensively in the playoffs and he seems to be riding that wave of confidence now.

Not 100% how many points he has right now but what he does without the puck has been, in the games I have watched, more impressive than what we see on the stat sheet

I’m going to disagree about him being invisible last year. I could see the flashes from Heinen, but he wasn’t prepared yet for the speed of the NHL game.

I'm puzzled why so many people want to move Pastrnak to make way for Heinen on the first line.

Bergy/HateBall/Pasta are in the conversation for best first line in the league, and they've recently outplayed both the Stamkos and Tavares lines. I don't know why you'd even think of messing with that. And with Pasta's penchant for giveaways, he needs to be playing with our most defensively responsible forward.

What I like best about Heinen is his ability to make other players better (see his recent chemistry with Riley Friggin Nash). To me, the best use of "Bergeron Jr." this season is to exploit that talent to create line depth. The Nash/Backes/ Heinen line has been playing well (Backes looks rejuvenated, Heinen and Nash are clicking). How long has it been since we've had a real third line?

Keep Pasta with the first line. Let Backes/Heinen/Nash keep playing together and see if they can build on their promising third line chemistry. That then leaves us with trying to find wingers for Krejci, but what else is new? It's time for one of the rookies to step up and take that second line spot.

I think the talk about putting Heinen on the first line is all about trying to create two legit scoring lines by sliding Pasta down to play with DK. Personally, I would leave Heinen with 42 and 20 for now, move Bjork back onto the 37/63 line, give Krejci 74 and 88...and try to have THREE legit scoring lines.

Not sure why folks want to change up something that's working. Leave the third line as is for now.

1st and 3rd lines are just fine. Krejci needs to find a way to work with either Debrusk, Bjork or both.
Personally i'd like to see Cehlarik with Krejci and Debrusk and put Bjork with Backes and Heinen but for now and since we dont really know when Cehlarik will be, if ever, healthy things are just fine.

As I said in another post Heinen reminds me of the guy in my avatar. He's smart and seemingly is always in the right place at the right time.

And yes leave that third line alone. It works very well. Put Cehlarik on Krejci's wing, IMO they looked good together the few times it was tried.

i think Bjork and Debursk are exactly the type of players Krejci needs... i was really impressed with the passing play/goal from Krejci/Bjork the other night

He seems to have the Axe brain on him- not sure yet if he has the gumby body that sustains the hard hits and checks and stays healthy. I also think Heinen has a better offensive game than Axe (you mentioned this in your other post about hands)- but Axe was always one of my top 3 favorite Bruins and if Heinen becomes that good I'll be stoked!

I think Bjork and Krejci are finding some chemistry. Both of them are really smart players that rely a lot on their IQ, I'd keep them together. I think DeBrusk's style meshes really well with Krejci, but I would still look into getting him a goal scoring LW.

Heinen has been the most consistent of the forward bunch, and Heinen-Nash-Backes is fantastic. Absolutely don't touch that. They've been dominating other 3rd lines, and they can be trusted to put up some pretty significant minutes.

I wasn't a fan of the pick when it was made (silly, that late in the draft , I know) and I didn't get to catch much of his NCAA career but completely fell in love with his style last year watching him in the preseason. He has an ELITE hockey IQ and I don't use that term lightly or often.

He also has fantastic tipping abilities which we have not really seen yet and will result in lots of goals once that part of his game really get going.

Tonight was the first of many tip-in goals, methinks.
