So the team has trouble with secondary scoring, they call up Heinen who gets 3 assists in 3 games, looks great in the bottom 6, and gets sent down. Don’t get me wrong I want to see what Agostino and Cehlarik can do, but if Heinen plays center which I’ve heard he can, he should be in over Kuraly. I’m sure we’ll see him again this year, I think he’s a good one that deserves to play in Boston.

I didn't see much and it seems the Bruins brass didn't either. I doubt he'll ever pan out.

I haven't be able to catch the entirety of most the games, but from what I saw of Heinen, it seems like he might need some more time in the AHL. I'm not sure if I expected too much, but I felt a little underwhelmed.

I felt very underwhelmed. There's simply not much there to like.

For one he actually takes the puck to the net, something Schaller appreciated. Secondly he won’t hurt you defensively like Kuraly last game. He’s not flashy but does the little things that add up.

Maybe, but so far not much has added up.

Maybe, but so far not much has added up.

Controlled breakouts, good stick on the forecheck, took the puck to the net resulting in goals, good chemistry on a fourth line that's scored 2 goals in the three games he's been up, good movement on the cycle, assisting controlled entry on the PP, killed penalties, and numbers wise three assists.

There was some bad to, but to say that you saw nothing or that not much has added up is a bit disingenuous.

Personally I think its a numbers game right now, I think Cehlarik and Agostino are blowing the doors off the hinges in the AHL and the org wants to reward them, Schallers been excellent for a bottom 6 guy and with Backes coming back it looks like there's not much room. But I think he'll be back before the end of the year. Bjork, and Debrusk will go through some rough patches where they'll sit for a couple games, and some injuries will happen.

I guess I wouldn't blame someone for having an opinion... I certainly have opinions... and if you wanted to be on record for having an opinion... stating it once is a good idea. when you are on a fan website for a particular team and you repeat the same negative opinion 3 times in such a short order adding absolutely nothing of value the second and third time you are officially a troll and should be ashamed of yourself. I hope you learn how to grow up and be part of the community if you are going to stay around for long

Heinen is not explosive, and desperate times call for that I guess.

Explosive is great, if it translates over into production, which is no guarantee. From what I have seen of Cehlarik and Agostino, explosive isn’t the first word that comes to mind. Beleskey and Schaller certainly aren’t what I would call explosive

I guess I’m just wondering what the end game is here? You call a kid up and he does what you ask, plays on the 4th line and even puts up 3 points in 3 games, looking pretty good doing it. His “reward” for meeting and/or exceeding expectations is to be sent down and seeing two PRO teammates (who were ripping it up in the AHL) called up.

I’m not sure I understand the reasoning? Maybe Heinen was told he was going up for the trip and then coming back down and that they want to look at all the players who are knocking on the NHL door. Just seems a bit odd? Also, while I like Cehlarik with DK and Pasta, I don’t think his 3 zone game is nearly as good as Heinen’s, so I don’t see him as a good fit for the 4th line. I don’t know enough about Agostino to say one way or another.

I do think that those two (and probably JFK) deserve a taste of the NHL. However, I would be happier if it was at the expense of an underperforming veteran rather than Heinen.

I think it's all based on META factors.

1) Heinen has as they say in baseball "options left".

2) Fans/radio talking head are antsy for dat "explosiveness". Which I honestly do not care about when it comes to entertaining the casuals.

I'm not saying it's the right move. I thought the "I guess" summed that part up.

I understood you weren't necessarily endorsing the move, I just quoted your post as it was the last one at the time. I also, completely understand the "numbers" game. The B's aren't going to expose Vatrano when Heinen is waiver exempt. I suppose I'm just wondering we are going to have to watch certain players continue to play poorly and not produce before they are replaced in the lineup by someone who will?

I think the return of Bergeron (and Backes) will go a long way towards fixing the Top 6 and slotting guys like Nash into the Bottom 6, where they should be. I don't think their return will fix Beleskey, Spooner, etc.

You get to watch the best line in the entire NHL when Bergy is healthy, that's a good deal. Don't pick on Kenny please, he's from my beloved state.

The team isn't missing two key players or anything..... Insert Bergeron and Backes, and what is the issue? You fill openings with young players. Bruins are seemingly doing that right now. How do you know what you have if you don't give them a look? All the players they're calling up have been successful in the AHL. Dear God, all the negative Nancy's are out in full force today.

It's been this way since the changeover...It's like HF had a Con-Air plane and it crashed and all the felons escaped the clutches of justice and are reigning terror upon us. We need a Cameron Poe.

B's are not filling openings with young kids. They are "depending" and "hoping" on them and depending on them and that if they throw enough s--t against the wall, something will stick. The trade market does not exist. GM is spineless to make a trade after being raped by Calgary. This team lost in the first round last year. not the 2nd or 3rd round....First round.....What did this spineless GM do to improve this team over the summer...?.....ZILCH. Vatrano BUST.....Czarnik BUST........Jury is out on Chelarik, Kuraly, Bjork...You can say what you want....But this is the NHL and this is a original 6 franchise that charges top 3-4 prices in the league. These players and this type team is just not acceptable. His tenure here has been nothing short of pitiful.

Did 4 games goto overtime? Were 4 of our top 7 dmen out with injury?

Chicago went out 4 straight and traded away their second best dman and second best scorer

Was that spineless? Maybe nhl team building is a little more complicated than some fans can be expected to understand?

Teams like chicago and boston that have gone to the finals multiple times in the last 7 years actually know what they are doing. no they arent gods. Yes there is a cap. Yes players do get older. Yes all teams have ups and downs

Stick around and watch and you will learn how it works

Heinen looked real good in the last few games. I was at the game in Denver sitting in the lower bowl at the end where the Bruins shoot twice and finally got to feel as smart as @DKH . In the 3rd period the Heinen line was the most dangerous by far and Heinen really sparked them. Not just on the goal, but all-around...it looked like someone must have lit a fire under his ass during the 2nd intermission because he came out battling and carried it over into the next two games.

I know everyone wants to believe that Sweeney & Cassidy are jerks, but I am confident they saw what I saw and loved how Heinen responded. He'll absolutely be back.

I suspect this move is more about seeing what Cehlarik & Agostino bring to the big club before they officially cut bait on Beleskey & Spooner. Wouldn't surprise me if JFK gets a look at some point if Spooner is out for a while.

My only issue with sending down Heinen, and calling other guys back up, is he just came off his best 3 game stretch BY FAR IMO of his NHL career, after being largely ineffective in all of his previous appearances.

He was clearly gaining confidence with and without the puck. I don't see how sending him down helps. They should ride the wave of his new confidence as long as possible.
