In case you missed it, my two moves so far:

Chris Armstrong resigned to 2 year, $1,000,000 deal($500,000 annual), that guarantees him at least 15 NHL games and he is first blueliner called up if a d-man goes down.

Cam Severson resigned to a 3 year, $1,200,000 deal($400,000 annual).

Pending approval, of course.

Also, do ownership changes count as moves? Or are they things that can just happen?

The Florida Panthers offer Kenny Jonsson a 4 year $12 million deal ($3 mil per)

The Florida Panthers off Reinhard Divis a 2 year $1.2 million deal ($600K per)

The Florida Panthers off Kamil Piros a 1 year $550,000 deal.

Both of those moves have my approval, and assuming that those guys will play for your farm team, they don't count towards your salary cap. Ownership changes? I guess they wouldn't really count as a GM's moves, seeing as a GM cannot control the ownership. That being said, why would you want to change ownership?

Jonsson had a good season, earning a +25 rating and missed just 3 games, therefore I think he deserves a small raise to say about $3.5 M. I think that's a fair deal.

The Divis offer looks good, as does the Piros offer. Both of them have my approval, and again, they won't count towards your cap unless they are going to play for your big team.

News out of Calgary

After a dissapponiting game 7 loss to the Lightning, GM Daryl Sutter has decided to step down as the head coach of the Calgary Flames and become the full-time GM of the team.

Daryl is also proud to announce, that assistant Jim Playfair will be the next head coach of the Flames. "Jim did an amazing job with the defensive core this year and I believe he will have no problem taking charge and leading this team into playoffs for years to come."

Also the Flames will like to announce that Dave Lowry has retired and will be become an assistant to the Flames. "Dave got some experience when he was injured suring the season, and he has always been a vocal leader, he is respected by the players and will no have no problem putting in an assistant's hat. Along with Preston, Marcoux; Dave will work well with the team."

Owners: Fans of Calgary
President: Desibasha
GM: Daryl Sutter
Head coach: Jim Playfair
Assistants: Rich Preston, Dave Lowry
Goaltending coach: Dave Marcoux

I was hoping he'd bite on a longer term deal with the new CBA looming. I'll reoffer tomorrow.

Interesting, very interesting. I would kind of expect Preston to take over if Sutter were to step down because he has more experience, but still, the league is willing to approve this interesting transaction. Lowry will be a good assistant coach, IMO.

I guess they wouldn't really count as a GM's moves, seeing as a GM cannot control the ownership. That being said, why would you want to change ownership?

Though there's a salary cap, Disney is killing the organization. The team is up for sale, and they've really cost the team some credibility(and also a GM).

That said, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks have announced that Joe and Gavin Maloof, the owners of the NBAs Sacremento Kings, have bought the team for an undisclosed amount. Joe and Gavin will both serve as co-owners, while Joe will become director of player personnel, and Gavin will serve as team president.

Ducks current management:

Owners-Joe and Gavin Maloof
President-Gavin Maloof
Director of player personnel-Joe Maloof
Director of public relations-Ducksflyogether
General manager-Bryan Murray
Assistant general manager-Chuck Fletcher

Coaching staff:

Head coach-Mike Babcock
Assistant coach-Ed Olczyk
Assistant coach-Ted Nolan
Assistant coach-Guy hebert
Goaltending coach-Francois Allaire

BTW, TomasPlekanec, Armstrong and Severson have been resigned, so they're no longer UFAs.

I've traded Cory Stillman and an 8th Rounder to Florida for Andreas Lilja and Denis Shvidki.

I've also tended a qualifying offer to Ben Clymer.

the Columbus Blue Jackets have swung a deal, sending the fourth overall pick along with Tim Jackman to calgary for Ryan Whitney and Konstantin Koltsov. waiting for approval, which is expected as this is an extremely even deal for both sides. The Jackets now have a couple of young d - men to build around in whitney and klesla. Jackman and Koltsov is a wash pretty much. and the fourth overall pick was more than likely to be a winger, which i do not need.

The Flames are now officially stocked - they have two draft picks in the top five. Nice maneuvering, Desibasha. This deal has the league's approval.

The Islanders have traded goalie prospect Wade Dubielewicz to Florida for veteran backup Steve Shields. Sorry for the others that gave me a proposal.

The Islanders would also like to announce that they've offered UFA Petr Bondra $3,3 millions contract over 1 year.

Pending league's approval.

What's the penalty if I sign another team RFA before june 20th ? Is it 5 1st rounders ?

Let's say I wanna sign Eric Brewer from EDM, then if Edmonton doesn't match the offer I got him, but I gotta give EDM something like 5 1st rounders ?

I would like to know for sure.. :D

You can't sign another teams RFA, until the regular free agency period starts. Then the team that owns the RFA has the right to match the offer. If the team declines to match the offer sheet the compensation is:

Colorado / Florida deal

Kristian Huselius is on his way to Florida for Chris Gratton

Gratton just didn't fit into the plans of the avalanche and they feel that Huselius is a break out year away from being a legitimate top 2 liner

However Gratton will be missed...

Wendsday afternoon the Blackhawks sent Jim Vandermeer D, and Scott Nichol C
to SJ. In return they receive Alex Korolyuk LW, and Wayne Primeau C.

"We are sad to see Jim and Scotty go, but with our sudden abundance of D, we really needed to get a top 6 winger. We are glad to upgrade the 4th line also, mainly in size, as Nichol is a very hard worker." - said Hawks GM.

To SJ: Vandermeer, Nichol

San Jose confirms the deal with Chicago. "Vandermeer gives us a physical defenseman who has a little upside, and dealing Korky frees up a forward slot to get Michalek and Goc some playing time. Plus Nichol will help us get a little tougher on the 4th line at a little savings." Vandermeer is signed but the team is negotiating terms with Nichol.

For their second move of the day, San Jose has offered a 3 yr 6 million contract to Curtis Brown. Terms of the deal are 1.8-2-2.2 million. "We feel Curtis is a quality forward who can play all 3 positions, gives us great PK and checking, and can fill in on the top 2 lines in a pinch," Sharks GM ORBluesFan said. "He'll get a slight raise over his qualifying number, and gets a longer term contract."

San Jose also announced that newly acquired Jim Vandermeer and Scott Nichol were qualified. Long-term contract talks with Mike Rathje and Mika Noronen are continuing.
