Dallas, Texas. (AP) - The Dallas Stars have announced that they have acquired Martin St.Louis from the Minnesota Wild for Nik Antropov, a 2nd round pick in 2007 and defensive prospect Brendan Bell.

Dallas GM Laurens Thie just announced that they have acquired the first line right winger they have been after all year pending league approval. The trade comes 24 hours before the trade deadline for the HFNHL, and it looks like the Dallas Stars are starting to make some moves to help them solidify a playoff spot this year after finishing in the draft lottery last year.

"Our right wing hasn't produced for us this year, and we needed to bring a guy in like St.Louis to help out on that side of the ice for us. Teams know that if they shut down our centers and left wing they can shut down our offence, and it's become very apparent as of late due to our dismal 2-8-0 record the last 10 games that we needed to add some serious scoring on our right side. Martin will bring that to the table for the playoff push", proclaimed Thie.

On paper, it looks like St.Louis will step right onto the 2nd line with rookie standout Derek Roy and Shawn Horcoff. The Stars will now have 2 scoring lines which they have so severely lacked all season.

"We're mired in our worst slump of the year, and I can't have this team limping into the playoffs. We are going to make the playoffs this year come hell or high water."

In other news, the Stars also announced that they have signed 4th line center super pest Steve Ott to a multi-year contract extension.

.....sigh....had such high hopes this year.

Best of luck to Marty in his new (temporary) home.

Word is Antropov may already have a new contract in place in Minnesota.

...Darcy Tucker was also seen packing up his locker......more to follow?
