He fit the needs of the Oilers pretty clearly back then. Right-shooting, two-way center who could play in the bottom six, which was a toilet at the time. There were always whispers we had interest in the kid at the draft. I have no doubts he was pretty high on our draft list that year. Prototypical Lowe/MacTavish target.

Seems that it's 2 different transactions. Maybe Kelleher doesn't have an NHL contract, so that deal is between the AHL teams specifically?
