Is Krejcik in poor form or something? It's surprising he was never in consideration. Also I assume Sulak is ineligible? Any guess on the lines?
Coach want defensive/offensive defensemen in balance, so I guess they didn't make it mostly because of it. Šulák also didn't play well in EHT, which end his chance.

Lines I guess it can be something like this:

Furch
Francouz
Bartošák

Jordán - Kundrátek
Kolář - Nakládal
Vitásek - Němec
Mozík,Polášek

Erat - Kovář - Sekáč
Kubalík - Mertl - Gulaš
Birner - Červenka - Řepík
Vondrka - Koukal - Radil
Zohorna,Horák

The forwars lines will probably not be like this except Erat - Kovář - Sekáč, but Mertl + Gulaš, Birner + Řepík and Vondrka + Koukal(possibly Červenka + Vondrka)played together in EHT. In defense it is possible that we'll see Kolář - Mozík pair too. Also seems Furch and Francouz will take same amount of games, no clear no.1 goalie.

I just realized, Czechs have a really nice selection of goalies in Europe. 6-7 years ago that seemed like a pretty big weakness.

Regarding Krejcik, is he not defensive or not offensive enough? I'm confused :D All I know is I would have taken him over Polasek for sure. Mozik should also be in the top 6, he is really solid which neither Nemec nor Kundratek are at this point, I'd say.

I take him as offensive defensemen, you have there Němec, Nakládal, Mozík and Kundrátek. Also Polášek play more physical game then him, take some penalty kill minutes, etc... It's more about personal preference, you can take Michálek or Krejčík instead of Polášek, but Polášek is just fit to Jandač plans better then them. Same goes with some forwards.

And I didn't make the line-up as first line, second... More like what I think the combination of players will be. Surely there can be Mozík in top 6, he is after all top 5 in points among defensemen in KHL.

Not a bad selection by any means, i'd probably not take Vondrka or Koukal but let's hope Jandac knows what he's doing.
I also wonder why Nestrasil wasn't nominated ... Myself i considered him as one of our core guys. Is he somehow seriously injured or what ?

I think Jandac said something about having players in their familiar roles, thus he didn't fit in. But maybe I remember wrong and he wasn't talking about Nestrasil.

My bad English:help:. Best-on-best(World cup and Olympic with NHL) Erat played at Olympic, Červenka at both and rest at World Cup. And by big I meant no experience with any tournament other then EHT(World Championship, Olympic, World Cup). It's just some info about the team, the rest have some experience there or there. Of course all players except Červenka and Erat will debute at olympic because no NHL, so I didn't even write it.
All clear, thanks :)

We should have taken a few young players, having a team this old is pointless.
Interesting is we have younger team then Sweden, USA and Canada. Our average age is 28,92, Sweden is 29, USA 29,61 and Canada 30,67. Also fewest players 30+years old, Sweden have 12, USA 13 and Canada 17.

Edit: Also Germany have more 30+ years old players (13), though some players can be cut out.

I like the idea of having a young team, however i'm not sure if there is enough youngsters who would be able to perform at this level.
As i said before, i would probably switch guys like Vondrka and Koukal for someone else, even though i can understand why the coaches chose them.

I don't think young Extraliga players like Stach, Indrák, Lev, Hrbas, Moravčík, Lenc etc. are good enough yet to play at the big tourney.
Obviously guys like Kousal (27 YO, NLA/0.76 PPG), Filippi (25 YO, KHL/0.68 PPG - great hands), Kaše, Nestrašil, Šulák could go but i believe there were reasons (injuries, eht poor play ..) why Jandac decided not to choose them.

Nečas is a tough one. The guy was flying at the WJC, easily the best Czech forward but even though after his return he plays very well in Brno, regular season Extraliga and OG are two very different things. But i'm sure they'll try him out during the WHC preparation games.

I wonder if Jagr's contract gets terminated if he'll play.
The roster was already announced and can change only if injury appear. And from interview with Josef Jandač I think he didn't be there either, after all he didn't play almost month. Robin Hanzl was cut out because of similiar reason also, so it's unlikely.

It will be good to see legend of Czech hockey in national team again, but it seems he need to return to game practice firstly. From what I read he will probably go to Kladno in WSM league, and then maybe return to Calgary.

Probably the most interesting player to watch and he's not even a regular.

He was moved to Mertl and Gulaš in today practice, Vondrka is ill. Also Josef Jandač say all 14 forwards play vs Finland(if Vondrka healty). So Kubalík will have his chance to be regular.

Also PP units are known:

Nakládal - Erat - Horák - Kovář - Řepík

Mozík - Gulaš - Červenka - Mertl - Radil

0-2 for Finland after second. Both goals early (36 second between them) after Francouz to Furch swap.

Martin Růžička was called up to South Korea in case Milan Gulaš can't play (his current situation is unknown). Also Michal Vondrka is still ill and coaching staff don't want to risk anything.

Milan Gulaš will not participate at Olympic. Martin Růžička will take his place in team. Very sad moment for him, especially after all these years he couldn't make it to WHC.

Edit: Forgot to mention Michal Vondrka was with team today and should be healty at the start. Some good news at least.
