If he plays 82 and with Pasta and Bergy(he too has to stay healthy).

His PPG was 3rd in the league IIRC.

Lol at Brad "the pace" Marchand.Nobody cares about his PPG over a cherry picked time. The guy is turning 30 years old next week , and never hit 90 points. He has 2 season of 85 points and after that the highest is 61 points lol

And he'll never hit 82 games going forward, with 2 to 3 suspensions a season.

Seriously, do you think he's talented enough to do so? He was on pace for 103 points this year and he's got 178 points in his last 148 regular season games.

I was thinking of MSL and how similar their career trajectories are and could be. Both are late bloomers. MLS won the Art Ross in his age 29 and 38 seasons.

Do you think he can be productive like MSL late into his 30s? Could he possibly squeak out a Ross or two in the McDavid era?

As soon as it's possible to score a goal or assist from both the penalty box and the press box.

I don’t think so.

He’s a great player. It there are quite a few more talented offensive players. As long as McDavid is around I’m not sure many others really have a chance at all. He could win 5 or 7 in a row.

Don't think anyone will win anything since Oil fans have McDavid's name etched on the Art, Hart and Rocket trophy for the foreseeable future

Lol yah I'm sure its Oilers fans only. It has nothing to do with him winning 2 already with relative ease by age 21. Or experts pretty much all on the 97 train.

Good chance he leads the league in PPG.

Suspensions and injuries (from refs never calling hits on him) means 82 games per is unlikely. The guy can't breathe on someone without getting suspended. And hes the smallest guy on the ice. If you actually played the sport you know that little guys like him get away with everything borderline they do. But not Brad. Hes like Joe Pesci in Casino. Guys twice his size are terrified of him.

He will be a very good player until he is 40 but I'm not sure how long his'peak' will last hes not that young. Hes a guy who worked his ass off to get to where he is not a Crosby who could roll out of bed age 18 and dominate the NHL. You usually have to be a generational talent like that to play at that level once you hit your mid 30s. Guys who had to build up to that tend to cool down.

Is it wrong that as a habs fan I still see him as a 4th line pest? Lol. Pretty crazy that we're having this conversation about him...

His point pace this year begs to differ.

He was tied for 4th in PPG this year and played far less games than the players above him meaning his PPG total is inflated by not actually playing all the f***ing games.

It is a fact that a high ppg is easier to attain the fewer games you play. Or should we count Louie Belpedio , Warren Foegele and Brandon Pirri among Art Ross contenders for next year?

Also, he's a moron who takes stupid penalties and gets suspended. Meaning he is not the type of player who wins scoring races. Whether you think he's good enough or not is irrelevant.

Probably could get to 95 in 72 and then throw an elbow in game 72 and then "the department of player safety has decided to suspend Brad Marchand for 10 games" and it's a wrap.

That's not how it works.
