Could Ahonen be an NHL starting goalie?

If he were in another organization? Brodeur will be the starting goalie in NJ for years. If Ahonen were traded do you think could he start somewhere else?

Honestly? He needs to work on his consistancy a bit. A little more time in the AHL. Maybe one more year. After that, for sure. He's looked absolutely brilliant at times.

And absolutely horrid at other times...

I know Albany is a crap team, but Ahonen doens't make them any more better off than half the other goaltenders in the AHL, and that is saying a lot.

I'd say ratsgirl on the Devs board could give a better read on Ahonen than anyone given the amount of Albany games she sees. If she doesn't chime in, PM her.
