Barrie must be the greatest 3rd pairing specialist of all time :yo:
Well he is unreal puck mover, great on the PP, still horrible in his own zone and has butter soft starts (almost 70% Ozone)

You do not think this is cause for concern?

Shows me that when he is line matched and pressed hard, he does not produce.

Not that it matters, but, 30p in 35 games = .857ppg

STL leading scorer Brayden Schenn, recorded 70 p in 82 games = .853ppg

So does this show us that Schenn doesn't produce ever? Or maybe it just shows that MacK is really f***ing good on the road and insanely f***ing good at home. If he matched those home #s on the road we'd be talking about whether he was on Gretzky & Lemieux's level after his 140 point season.

Fortunately I've always got a tightly trimmed beard going, otherwise I look like I'm a freaking teenager

Unfortunately the thing grows so fast that if this goes longer than 4-5 games I'll start looking like a hobo...

I've always liked Nashville, it's gonna be nice having a team I respect teach the Avs what true playoff hockey is and how far we've come, but have to go until we reach a level close to the preds.

Sooooo much this. All Avs fans have had in recently playoffs memory are the Wild with Mat Cookes flying knees taking out our star players. I don't think I'm even going to be mad when Nashville shows Colorado how it's done, I just hope our rookies have their eyes open when it happens.

Yea it is pretty strange how he acted as a captain. But I think he must have felt like the captain from the Titanic. Everyhing is coming apart, there's nothing you can do and you're like "**** the World!". lol

I'm sure that was probably how he felt. People should give him a break on his post game comments. It was an incredibly frustrating season for the Blues and Pietrangelo in particular went through some really tragic stuff in his personal life that is still in his mind I'm sure. Losing a child can make you feel really helpless and having Mike Yeo as your head coach is enough to make you want to kick the nearest puppy.

Anyway congrats to the Avs, must feel great for those guys to be in the PO's.

What is all this MacKinnon is doing this all by himself bs? His linemates are both great and Barrie puts up big numbers.

It stems from how the Avs ebb and flow according to whether MacKinnon is on or off. There haven't been enough games this year it's happened to tell, but outside of Rantanen most of the times the Avs lose if MacKinnon isn't firing on all cylinders. And Rantanen hasn't found that top gear yet, he's often been feeding off MacKinnon's buzz or Landeskog's cycling and using his skill to capitalize.

The line compliments each player's skill well. But it's 100% driven by MacKinnon and as MacKinnon goes so too does the Avalanche.

The other thing is I think Bednar figured out how to press the home ice advantage with thin air. You saw an extreme case of it Saturday with how deadlegged the Blues were after a back to back.

If you took a poll on our board, I doubt one poster would have thought the Avs would be in playoff contention. The consensus goal was get a good deal for Duchene and that happened in spades. As a fan base we've been content since November, so this is all gravy. In the sense we are at a buffet and took the whole steam tray of gravy back to our table.

Anyway I prefer a Captain that is mad, that means he cares.
