Atlanta Thrashers, Buffalo Sabers, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Pittsburgh Pengiuns, Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, Toronto Maple leafs and Phoenix Coyotees were not represented by anyone even after a thread was posted on each teams board asking for their participation. Their picks were made by myself using the combined rankings top 100, after that I picked for each unrepresented team based on a loose knowledge of what their team needs were from the CSS final rankings. Goalies on the top 100 combined list were moved down an additional six spots due to the unusual high rankings they were given.

Wow, in the end it's a total D draft for the Habs. Wishart, Persson, de Gray, steblick's sleeper Tulupov and Wilson. Love getting Daugavins in the 4th as the lone forward.

The Draft of the Defensemen for the Devils.

25. New Jersey – D Chris Summers
59. New Jersey – D Simon Danis-Pepin
68. New Jersey [Was] – RW Brady Calla
108. New Jersey [Van] – D Marek Troncinsky
149. New Jersey – D Sean Coffey
179. New Jersey – D Zach Jones
209. New Jersey – D Eric Baier

Chris Summers may become the second best defenseman from the draft. You can't teach his uncanny skating abilities. Despite being labeled as a defensive defenseman, Summers' speed and versatility can eventually give him offense and make him the complete package. He could be Paul Martin's defensive partner 5 years down the road.

Danis-Pepin's size is something you can't teach and is worth the risk if Brian Strait is off the board in the second round. Nobody thought Chara would develop into the monster on the blueline that he became, and likewise, nobody thinks Danis-Pepin is the next Chara. We shall see though.

The others were really just guesses, but I would be thrilled if this is how the Devils' draft day turned out.
