Surely there has to be some team out there that could use Franson on the 3rd line a bit of the PP to inject some offense. Was always impressed by Franson's ability to get the puck through traffic.

Oiler's will pick him up. They had interest in the off season. They desperately need a PP QB. I think it may be a great fit for both teams.

That is what I thought but was worried I was misremembering their interest. With their struggling special teams, a veteran powerplay presence may be just what the doctor ordered.

I definitely see Franson being claimed here. He hasn't been bad statistically this year, 7 points in 23 games isn't bad and he has kick ass possession stats. He'll definitely get claimed by a team with a weak bottom pair or a team that needs powerplay help.

Quenneville was just not a fan. He'll continue to do well if he's picked up.

He just doesnt do much besides throw junk at the net which inflates his advanced stats. He is just too slow and isnt reliable in his own end. He is also too much of a liability to jump into the play because of said speed. So he basically just monitors the blue line and flips 40 foot shots at net. Chicago just needs more from him and they have had an 8 dman logjam all season. With Oesterle being a hidden gem this year, seems they have committed to him being one of the every day dmen now along with Murphy, Seabrook, Keith, with Forsling and Rutta being more preferred and higher upside than Franson

His possession stats are grossly misleading, he doesnt drive the offense and suppress on defense like his stats indicate

David Rundblad had very good possession metrics in Chicago once upon a time too

He can't complain the Hawks didn't give him a chance. Frankly, Q played him a shocking amount in the last 25 games. Which might explain our lousy record over that stretch...

As a Hawks fan, I'm fine with this. He's really slow and isn't great in his own zone. We already have that in Seabrook. We can't have 2 extremely slow defenseman on the right side every night. With Osterle playing ok on the right side, there's no need for him. Franson's nothing more than a PP specialist at this point.

This is a guy whom even Buffalo did not want back .......

That should ring the warning bells right there.
