I agree completely. I never understood why you have to forfeit elgibility in the first place.......If the draft age was higher, then I could understand, but this is 17-18 year old kids..

The whole agent spiel scares the NCAA because of benefits and such for players. If a player does not have an agent, I am all for him entering and returning to college.

So what are the options for a player who opts in if they don't make the NHL? Canadian Junior? AHL? Where would they play?

They can play anywhere but the NCAA. Makes sense that Poulin is pushing this, since he could lose O'Neil and that would be a major blow to their program. It's a big deal, imo, cause O'Neil, Stafford, Thelen, Pineault are some impressive prospects and will make this draft stronger if they are in it.
