Claude Giroux?

Discussion in 'NHL Draft - Prospects' started by Transported Upstater, Mar 30, 2006.

  1. What can people tell me about this kid? I can't go to a Gatineau game, so can anyone help me out?

Any thoughts? Q experts, you've been summoned!

He is kind of small but he isn't too small. Plus he's quick. Most of all, he's an excellent passer with great on ice vision and puck skills.

Giroux is small, but i liked his heart at the Top Prospects Game this winter. I liken him to the Martin St Louis of this year not last year, maybe his potential will unfold in a couple of years, he still needs to beef up a little bit. Probably he will spend 2-3 years in the AHL after he finishes with Gatineau, but is a blue chipper in my opinion, he is a solid choice with good hockey sense and some decent speed to boot.

He is now 17.... so eligible for the 2006 draft.

He was 5-4 last year thats why he went undraften in the OHL draft and after a mononucleos.... (im not sure of the name in English sorry for that) he grew and now is 5-10.

I saw him play a few times live and 10-15 games on TV, and the kid really impresses me. I think he could become a solid PP specialist in the NHL... I see him being a player like Donald AUdette... very good ofensivly and his carrer will be as long as he can produce.

Is Claude related with former New Jersey player Raymond Giroux?
