Smart move. Seems like he’s made atleast 1 crucial play in each of their SB runs. Dudes clutch as can be.

Really shocked he’s back. Obviously thrilled but didn’t think the Chiefs would meet his demands.

Feels like it would've been a huge mistake for KC to let him go.

How do we think CJ will age? Couple more years of DPOY-type impact and then a gradual scale down? The number "30" obviously is scary in any NFL discussion outside of QB's but I do tend to think Jones will age fairly well as more of an interior player and at this point, he's not racking up the 90% snap counts some younger DT stalwarts do.

I think this deal made a lot more sense for the Chiefs than it would have for basically anybody else. He's the captain, the "Mahomes" of that defense in every aspect. They couldn't afford to lose him. And I don't think Jones would've been as happy anywhere else.

Realistically since this is his third long term deal should have 2 years of guaranteed money. Guessing it’s $50 odd mill that is guaranteed. Basically a 2 year deal with KC holding the option for years 3-5.

In terms of real money:
$30 mill in SB

2024 - $1.35 mill plus the $30 SB = $31.35 mill
2025 - $28.85 mill

*2026 - $35.1 mill
The 2026 money become guaranteed in March 2025, so it vests a year early. Thus, pretty much assured Jones is getting a 3 year contract. Otherwise, it's a 1 year deal for $60 mill.
