I'll say it again. I'm really high on Colby Sissons (LD). He's shown growth and promise every step in his development since we signed him. It really helps that Swift Current is absolutely stacked (one of only two teams in the WHL that are 6-0-0), but he's earning his spot on the top defensive pairing. I definitely think this is his last year in juniors

How about Sissons' start to the season? Nine points in six games.

Granted it looks like his team is stacked. Some player named Tyler Steenbergen has 13 goals in six games.
Actually the team doesn't look that stacked, it's just that top line which has been ridiculous. The top 3 guys each have at least 15 points.

The fourth fwd on the team has 5 points. The fifth highest scoring fwd on the team has 2 points. Doesn't take away from your point though. Sissons could be riding some coat tails.

Points-wise he probably is, but he's doing everything else really well. I believe he's got some good two-way potential at the NHL level.

Ya, d-man typically don't go from .5 ppg to 1.5 ppg in one season. But it is encouraging. And as you say doesn't speak to the other things he is doing on the ice.

Edit: Last year Artyom Minulin was Swift Currents top d-man point producing. Putting up 50 points compared to Sissons 30.

This year Minulin has 3 points compared to Sissons 9. Has Sissons jumped Minulin on the depth chart? Or at least as the #1 offensive d-man? Certainly Sissons has benefited playing with that high scoring top line, but he has benefited more then any other d-man on the squad.

I don't think Stud is getting top minutes so he's really not getting a chance to succeed. His skating is too good not to produce more offense.

I Think all of our prospects are showing some really bad signs of offensive production, how can that be?

We are still in need of some guys coming through with some high potential!

I want more Swedish defensemen drafted.

Any news on that telavite, the swizz goalie, or Jesper B recovery?
