I"m surprised Montreal didn't sign Scalzo...and they invited no one yet...:(.

From Kitchener - Adam Keefe was signed by the Manitoba Moose (AHL) today.... and I understand that Andre Benoit will be signing with the Canadians and is expected to be in Hamilton this year.

Albany will love Clarkson - pretty good skater, very good "shift disturber" who will back it up, scores goals, makes life miserable for opposing goalies, takes a ton of abuse, and has a blast doing it. I've never seen a player so great with kids - you'll also see him talking to the refs, opposing players, opposing coaches, fans, mascots - you name it - he's talking.

Wasn't Ryan Mior supposed to be a high pick?

Extremely early in the season, maybe.

But very few expected him to go earlier than the 7th round after the year. And with it being a 7-round draft, it wasn't surprising when he was passed over entirely.

Well they sort-of have. Luke Fritshaw signed with Long Beach their ECHL affiliate. He played last year with Prince Albert in the WHL.

Where did you hear Benoit will sign with the Habs? They need defense badly in Hamitlon since they only have two guys signed so far in Andrew Archer and J-P Cote. :shakehead

I expect Fritshaw to be at Hamilton's camp since last years deal with Hamilton and Long Beach had Long Beach sending a few of it's players, so I would think he will get a look there. He could join Chipchura for the '06-'07 season. ;)

Andre Benoit would be a great addition for the Habs prospects pool and the Hamilton Bulldogs. The PP in Hamilton would be good with guys like Locke, Kostitsyn and Benoit!

I heard Brad Staubitz from the Ottawa 67's got a tryout with the Ducks. I also heard Girardi of the London Knights got some sort of tryout with the Washington Capitals Organization.

Evan Haw from Saskatoon (WHL) is going to camp with San Jose. I guess Lorne Molleken is using his experience within the Sharks' organization to get his players opportunities they might not otherwise have.

Good to see Mark Louis from Brandon got a tryout. I was a big fan of his this last season. Big, lanky kid. With some good coaching he could turn into an NHL defenseman. Watch him be one of those late bloomer types.

i read today that ryan salvis (released by moncton midway through last year) has been invited to the sharks camp. salvis is a great leader, grinder and good PK man. a real workhorse. not a bad pickup at all.

Add Derek Leblanc and Riley Day to Mark Louis as Wheatkings who have signed training camp contracts
