CBJ sign UDFA - USHL Goalie Star

I did not see this posted on the forum elsewhere. CBJ signed the top USHL goalie from this past season.

Matiss Kivlenieks. 36-7-6 with a .932 Save Percentage and 1.85 GAA this past year. Almost 21 years old...gotta assume he's destined for Cleveland this coming season. Supposedly other NHL clubs pursued him so I suspect the CBJ had to be offering him an opportunity to get lots of developmental time in the AHL which would mean either Forsberg or Korpisalo will not be in Cleveland.

I understand his numbers might be inflated by the fact he was an over-ager in the USHL but those ae still heady numbers and he was Goalie/Player of the Year this season. Interested to see if he can make the jump to the AHL.

He was headed to Minnesota State. I don't think that's possible now that he's under contract.
