I am ashamed to admit that I had to play the song before I understood the signficance of your post...
LOL - have not seen so much commotion over an event that bamboozled our ancestors but has a ready scientific explanation (and a full eclipse to be seen in northern Ohio in 2024).

Though solar eclipses happen every 1-3 years, it just wasn't something that occurred in America very much over the last century. Yesterday, the eclipse covered America from the west coast to the east cost.

2024's event will start in Texas (actually in Mexico) and cut through the heartland. Everyone in Ohio should take the day to travel to the path of totality to see it.

What in tarnation did they do to 270-315 north interchange? How long has it been like that?

You make it sound like a bad thing. They have been working on it for well over a year. I live north of 270 off of 23 in the Polaris area. That whole area (270/315/23) has been a cluster for years with all the new construction up north of 23 and into Lewis Center. I will take the congestion and inconvenience there now until they get it done. It's already tons better than it was and when it gets finished it should be a major improvement from the disaster that it was.

Hello neighbor. Hopefully they get it done soon because traffic on 23s is still terrible.

So I figured I'd give the "sportsbook" here a try, since I can actually figure out how to use it on this particular forum. Last night, two bets - picked Sharks over Flyers (oops) and Flames over Oilers (d'oh). So I shrug, and make five picks for this evening. Went with Rangers over Avalanche (whoops), Predators over Bruins (nooope), Sabres over Habs (uh oh), Wild over Red Wings (guess), and Sens over Caps (sensing a theme here).

So if the Jackets lose tomorrow, it's obviously my fault, because I picked them before the failstreak was confirmed.

I know I'm not one of the major personalities on this board but I just wanted CBJ land to know that they lost a pretty stellar fan about two weeks ago (thus my absence from GDTs). I'm terrible about taking photos so the most recent I had with him in CBJ gear was in 2011... My little brother was in college in Dayton so didn't get to make but one game a year but he made the most of it and kept up with CBJ moves and news just as much as myself (of course we had the "who's Twitter sources are better" contests). Almost not sure why I'm posting but feel I need to for him. R.I.P. Nicholas

Hopefully the CBJ end up revving up and taking the league

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, aRussian.
Your post, simple and straight forward, reveals much about your relationship with your brother. It isn't easy to reach out when hurting - yet you did. I continue to be amazed at how hockey has a way of bringing otherwise strangers together, like no other sport or activity I've known. Even on a message board.
I pray that you find comfort, wherever you search for it.
Rest in Peace, Nicholas.

Now Columbus loses The Andersons, which is closing all retail stores.

The Andersons to close all retail stores

I have no idea where I'll go for a good beer and wine selection, as well as a replacement for their House of Meats. Anyone have recommendations? I hear Gentile's in Grandview has a good beer/wine selection. Butcher?
WTF? I loved this place. Also, how did I just hear of this?
...might be why they went out of business now that I think about it...

If you needed some 2x4's, window screen, rib eyes, and a 6 pack of Schlitz, it was the only place you needed to go.

Hey guys I'm going into surgery for a fusion of the L4/L5 area of my back in about 4 hrs and I don't know if the game will be in their Tv's or not so I'm relying on you guys to be active in the GTD so I can get my fix. I'll be in the hospital minimum until Saturday mid day it will all depend on how the scar looks and if I go potty both 1 and 2 haha.

Side note this is procedure #11 in the past 10ish years I've been put under anesthesia for. I had surgery 3 days before my 19th birthday because my appendix almost burst and now this is back surgery #3 (2nd this year). Hopefully this is the last one in a while.

I am however taking bets on how long it takes counting backwards from 10 for me to go under. It's a tradition I started after my 3rd surgery. Furthest I ever made it was 7 seconds (counting from 10 to 3 backwards). I'm guessing 6 seconds (passing out on 4) but normally I'm out by 7 haha.

Hope things go well.

If you've got a cable subscription (and associated login) and a tablet or cellphone or something you can catch the game through the Fox Sports Go app; that's how I caught bits and pieces of the Sabres game while I was in the hospital with pneumonia.
