...leading the BCHL in scoring ...turns 18 in November,so 2007 draft-eligible...apart from his size 6'2 208,I don't know much about him...for those who have seen him play---how good a prospect is he,and will his good year (if he continues to shine) move him up the draft ranking charts?

I am interested in seeing him. Merritt comes here in November for their first visit of the year so I will get a chance to see him then.

I haven't gotten a chance to see this guy play but I'm looking forward to it.

and even better prospect playing in the BCHL is Ben Winnett, He's an 89 BD and I think an 08 draft

I personally think Pierre-Zabotel is a better prospect than Winnett is, Adam.

I've seen both play and played a bit against Pierre-Zabotel with Merritt/Kamloops, and I have to admit this kid is absolutely dynamite. Not only does he have slick hands and unreal skating abilities, he has the size of a good sized defenseman at 6'2, 208 pounds. I think this kid could be a top 20 pick, and maybe even the highest BCHLer ever drafted.

Salmon Arm looks loaded with draft eligibles that seem to be having some success. Anyone seen them play this year? Aside from Winnett, how are guys like Glaicar, Spady, Nash, Grassi and Rawlings doing?

Pat Rogan?

Another Merritt guy is Pat Rogan. He's a 90 born who was highly touted 2 years ago, but has stopped a bit in his development. How has he been doing so far?

Nash is putting up a ton of points but I think he's playing with Winnett, the interior conference has really come here yet aside from Vernon

I watch Salmon Arm quite a bit. Winnett no doubt is the best player on the team, but a close second could be Damon Kipp(88) just an absolute rock on D, even as an 88 I think he will get alot of interest at the draft. Rawlings has been struggling as of late, you might see Jesse Deckert come back after being let go by Prince Albert. Rawlings always seems to play unreal when there is another number one with him. Nash will be drafted barring a colapse, he is very strong on the puck and uses his speed to drive wide alot. Glaicar has surprised me, I didnt think he had the offense on D as he does, wears and "A" on the team after playing midget last year, so that says alot about his character. Grassi really caught my eye in the pre-seaon, but not as much in the regular season, which may not be a bad thing, he rarely gets beat 1 on 1. Spady, I like the way he plays, does it all, drops the gloves, hits, and is mean in the corners, and puts up points, probly wont get drafted though.

HF is working on a CPZ article. He's a quality prospect, I'm not personally sold on him as a first-rounder yet, I think he needs to sustain a high pace to maintain that kind of projected draft position. Very, very quiet kid though, not a big talker.

2007-08 Winnett will be at the University of Michigan. Not sure on the eligibility, but I think he'll be quite a catch.

I work for a BCHL team, so I get to see all of their home games, and Merritt was here about a month ago, and quite frankly, I wasn't too impressed.

He didn't do a lot on the ice, but he just oozes potential. I was more impressed with one of his teammates, Wade MacLeod. But, Pierro-Zabotel is definitely one of the best (aside from Turris) prospects in Jr. A right now, no doubt.

How does he compare to Zajac in his draft year, granted Zajac was a year older.

I noticed that only 5 of his 22 goals so far have come at even strength so far.
PP specialist! Puckhog! Robbie Schremp! He should try to sign with the Knights.:sarcasm:
Seriously though, the BCHL seems to have a lot of talents for this draft, it's really great too see. But I'll ask again: How has '90-born Patrick Rogan been playing for Meritt?

Considering the fact that I had high hopes for him a couple years ago, 14 points in 23 games is far from great...

Zajac was definitely a more polished player in his draft year than Pierro-Zabotel is. I think Zajac was/is stronger on the puck, as well. I didn't find Casey to be particularly willing to go into corners and do the dirty work.

I think a better '90 in the BCHL would be Taylor Stefishen of Langley. That kid can score. Good skater, really exciting player to watch.

I saw him play Bantam AAA during a tournament up here, and I thought then that he was a sure thing for the WHL and a high draft pick. Obviously he's chosen the college route as not even the Memorial Cup host Vancouver Giants can convince him to join them.

But yes, I think he is at least a 2nd round pick next summer.
