the most suspendable act in this exchange is Zadorov to be completely honest. You could tell by Soucy's reaction that he was shocked that McDavid was suddenly a foot shorter and his crosscheck hit him in the mouth instead of in the chest.

Zadorov doesn't attack from behind as the third man in, Soucy's crosscheck is run of the mill, and nobody gets suspended.
This is... a level-headed take.

How so????

Saucy cross checks McDavid first then McDavid responds with a slash, saucy responds with a slash, then Zadorov (who should be the one deciplined more than Saicy) cross checks him from behind into saucy who cross checks him in the face(which would have been in the chest). It’s quiet simple if you watch the footage
Get a grip on reality.

Soucy lightly pushes McDavid away. This happens 100x per game and in every single scrum.

McDavid responds with a baseball chop to the legs. He escalates it. McBabys*** is just so pathetic he can't handle what's coming after he starts some s***

Instigation is instigation. McDavid's little tap on Soucy was worse than the push, but the double cross checks were way worse than the tap McDavid gave to Soucy.
Soucy pushed McDavid as he bumped into him after the game. What is he suposoed to do? Give him a nice hug and tell him better luck next game?

New desktop background, thank you.
Understandable for a nucks fan to use a play where one player got max fine for cross checking and the other about to be suspended..

Update the desktop background from Bertuzzi one

It's a weird one, because the result is bad but I don't think he was trying to cross check him in the face at all.

Zadorov cross checking him from behind put Soucy's cross check in a bad spot.
There is nothing wrong with him not even a cut.Result was he is Fine. But when you get hit from behind you lose any body functions to defend yourself that is true I admit.Soucy can use that in hearing to say my stick was low he came down as it was happening so no intent to head shot him.1 game my bet

Have you ever been pushed from behind, while on skates, when you do not expect it at all?

After watching the scrum again, McDavid had his visor so he likely didn't even feel it. Plus he totally embellished it. Zadorov barely even touches him and yet McDavid lunges forward. Should be suspended for the rest of the series for embellishment and using his stick as a weapon to baseball swing on Soucy. But the league is not allowed to suspend the leagues golden boy.

Not particularly this play, but I'm surprised you just don't see star players in the league feigning injuries or staying down. The Department of Player Safety pretty much ramps up their punishment based on the aftermath.

I’m actually a new Canucks fan. As of last week. Definitely my #2 team after last night.

Zadorov fined 5000$ for cross check at the end... ooo such a deterrent... somebody should've crosschecked Silov while he had his mask off.. $5000 lol

How is this protecting him? He got assaulted already and could have easily been out with a broken jaw/neck.

This is about punishment for the event. How is Zadorov allowed to cross check after final buzzer without getting anything. Allow this then also allow opponents attacking your goalie after final buzzer
Zadarovs cross check was weak at best that's why he got that 5k fine cuz it's was weak, it was a shove from behind that McDavid felt and flopped. McDavids high stick to Hughes was worse, Ryan/Perry slash to Hoglanders nuts was a hell of a lot worse, Kane sticking out his foot and tripping /kneeing Hughes was cheap as shit and worse. Both Nurse crossing checking Pettersson head first into the boards and Myers doing the same to Hyman was f*cken brutal.. Soucy will get 1 game for that but it isn't his fault that McDavid flopped at the exact same moment when Zadorov tapped him.

It should have been two minutes for Zadorov, two minutes for McDavid, two minutes and maybe a fine (at most) for Soucy.

If McDavid wasn't involved in this play it would have been forgotten about 20 seconds later.

It's a push. It happens literally 100x per game and in every single scrum.

McPissbaby freaks out after it and escalates. He starts some s*** but can't handle it, then has to go cry to the league.
