At the recent awards night throughout the various conferences, several Carolina Prospects were honoured.
In WCHA, no Hurricane got individual awards but several made the all star team. In the All-WCHA first team, the recently acquired Bobby Goephert made the mark after singled-handedly carrying St Cloud State. This is surprising as Brian Elliot was named the top goaltender in the conference. In the second team, Forward David Backes and Defenseman Alex Goglioski got there just rewards. It worth noting that Backes also made the All-Academic team. His major is Electrical Engineering and this is no mean feat. Also, Denver Pioneer Chris Butler was named to the All-Rookie Team.
In the ECACHL, Grant Lewis, the Dartmouth defenseman, garnered spot on the second team.
