Carlson at a decent price would be a fantastic pick up but there is no contest if choosing between him or Tavares.

Agreed, just not at 8x8. Tavares scares me a bit too, but with our depth he would be very successful even if the skills start to erode. I don't see Carlson lasting at his current level for more than a season or two, he will regress hard

Most they can give him is 7 years and I wouldn't consider 8 as a decent price. IMO, 8 will be top dollar for Carlson.

Oh right right. Well I'm totally on board with some other team paying 8 mil for Carlson, just not our team.

The only edge that Carlson has on JT is the fact that he's a defenseman.
He's a good OFD but he's really not good in his own zone.
