I disagree with having an "already-deep" rotation. We have plenty of candidates for the rotation, but many have question marks.

Its good contract, i guess, but IIRC Thames gets 7 M per year from Brewers. He was much better and proven.

I find the whole thing surprising. The contract. Supposedly handed a rotation spot. He was terrible in 2014 at age 25 in the bigs. Why should we expect a different result 4 years later? Did he completely change his arsenal while in Japan?

I doubt he's been handed a spot. Who knows who that source is.
