I tell ya what, after spending years not drinking soda/pop, a Coke is like a ****ing dessert these days. I think I'll always love that ****.

Same here. I rarely drink them. The best is a fountain Coke, with the small cubed ice. Like what you get at a movie theater. That first sip is like heaven if you haven't had it in a while.

I quit drinking pop at the same time I quit smoking, almost 13 months ago now.

Used to drink 4-5 cans of coke a day and now if you put one in front of me I don’t think I could even drink it. Somehow the carbonation scares me

Ahh, the holy one has graced us with his presence for yet another opportunity to bestow his great knowledge upon us. Except, who the **** didn't think Ryan sucked? There may have been some arguments about how much he sucked, but I really can't recall anybody endorsing Ryan as some useful NHL player. "Nobody listened"?

The most vigorous defense of Ryan that I recall hearing was, "he seems to get the most out of Skinner, so it's worth keeping him here as long as those two are clicking". Not exactly a ringing long term endorsement.

So Wallmark will be a healthy scratch vs Philly because Staal is back, right?

Probably. Unless they move Lindholm back to wing.

Did they ever do the BS paper transaction to get Wallmark on the Charlotte roster at 3PM deadline day or did RF fubar that? If he’s not eligible for Charlotte in the playoffs because of a clerical error that’s going to be infuriating.

Stop saying pop god damnit.
I mean, agreed. But it is also is a LOT better then it is in places further south. I mean, when I go in to a place and ask for a Coke and the waiter responds with "sure, what kind do you want?" it's just... I mean, unless you're specifically asking me if I want regular or diet that's fine, but for the love of f***, Sprite and Mountain Dew are not f***ing Coke. It's enough to give me a migraine when I think about it, yet alone when I actually have to hear it. I'll take someone calling it Pop any day over that unless they're specifically talking about f***ing Coke.

In the area where I grew up in the midwest, it was only called pop. When I moved to the northeast, it was only called soda (have a pop meant have a beer). A friend of mine from Atlanta called everything, regardless of the brand, "Coke" (as Dave said).

"Soft Drink" is just trying not to offend anyone, kind of like "Happy Holidays".

Also grew up in the midwest (a bit outside of Chicago) and don't ever recall soda being called pop, despite always hearing that most midwesterners say pop.

Ive got family in Ohio that always calls it pop. Growing up down here I always called it Coke. Which is weird because Pepsi makes such a big deal out of being "born in the Carolinas" and I almost always prefer Pepsi to an actual Coke.

Yep. As a 65 yr old Raleigh native Coke is what I always said, and most everyone I knew did as well. Unless, of course, you were getting a "Dew". And like AD, my oldest friend still says Coke even though he is/was a Pepsi drinker his whole life. Anyone saying this pop or soda crap was immediately branded as a Yankee carpetbagger.
