I knew Arizona had to be bad, but I hadn't watched them at all... holy **** they are terrible.

Belly aching over a SO lineup in a game that never should get there seems silly. Fire everybody.

No, belly aching over losing a shootout is belly aching about a specific thing that getting Darling was supposed to improve, and so far has not.

These shootouts are points. They are super f***ing important. And a good coach should have enough sense to send out the best possible shooters, and not all the Captain Tryhard guys.

The "5-hole" issue has to get resolved. He's a big guy, but that's something that's easily worked on. Bad glove hand is more difficult....and that was his predecessor's issue.

Canes went on a road trip. They took on the worst team in the league from last year and the worst team in the league from this year. Two of the worst Points % teams in modern history. They barely came away with 1 point.

Glad I didn't watch this one. I'm concerned at this point, but a bit numb to it as well. Too many seasons with the same result. Just too many.

Getting angry that we lost the shootout is missing the forest for the trees. Yes, losing the shootout is bad, but against teams like Colorado and Arizona, we shouldn't even be in that spot. The fact we're even there is a complete failure in itself.

So far, I'm too numb to be angry.

I spent the past few days convincing my wife that the late Avs/Coyotes games would be worth watching. Now I'm honestly trying to convince myself that Tuesday's home game is worth going to.

The forwards are playing such a perimeter dog-shit game. Nobody will cut the the center of the ice despite it being brought up constantly in interviews. Limited net front traffic. The only player on the team scoring more than once every 3 games is Jeff Skinner. Jordan Staal is 2nd on the team in goals and he might have the worst hands of any top-9 forward in the entire league. Even Aho has been tainted for me. Despite his amazing playmaking ability, it is painfully apparent that he needs to put on 20 lbs. He is trying too hard to take the lead and he just doesn't have the physical strength which leads to a lot of turnovers.

The fact that they can hold possession so well and generate chances only exacerbates the visual lack of skill. I'm starting to believe the reason that the Canes goalie's SV% is always so low is because they never get the chance to face 40-50 muffins from the Canes multiple times each year.

Honestly, for the first time in a very long time I'm not planning to watch the Canes game despite having nothing else on the schedule and no obstacle to doing so. We're going to lose, it's going to be a boring game, and I'll watch the lone Hurricanes goal, scored by Jeff Skinner, as a highlight later.
