JVR's contract status is probably a no from the Canes. And i think i would stick with Marner over Aho as a Leafs fan.

JVR+ for Faulk works for me, but again the Canes would quickly pass.

Marner vs Aho isn't that far apart on their own.

A UFA to be in JVR and a 3rd isn't close to Faulk.

For Carolina, what they need is a C. They need to hold onto their D unless they can get a C for them.

Toronto is underpaying considering JVR's contract but that being said I would much rather have Marner than Aho.

Marner shouldn't be involved in any trade. Value isn't bad, but why? I don't want Faulk that bad. It's Marner's second year. Probably 60 something points again. Out of all these players I think Marner will be the best in the end.

Bad for Carolina. JVR is a pending UFA and obviously, Faulk has far more value as a result (even with JVR extended, Faulk would still have more value).

I wouldn't do Marner short of an overpayment though, which this qualifies as.

Aho is outproducing Marner
He is way better at scoring goals
He is way better defensively
He has potential as a center
He is THE guy on carolina while marner gets to play behind matthews

So yes i would say he is clearly the better player

Why wouldnt they? Aho is a better 2-way player, better scorer and make people around him better. I rather have a playmaker than a complimentary player, dont you? He is also able to play center.

1) Aho plays significantly more time; also, compare career stats
2) Marner is a playmaker, so that's an apples to oranges comparison

I'm guessing you don't realize that Aho currently has more points then Marner in 4 less GP? Including 8 more Goals? On a team where he is the singular offensive threat?

It's amazing how you forgot to mention that both Aho and Marner both have the same amount of points. How about the fact that Aho plays 3 minutes more a game then Marner. One thing I would give Aho over Marner is he is a better goal scorer, but Marner is a far superior playmaker, both are solid defensively and both are great young talents. You don't have to agree with the proposed trade but maybe you should look up some stats before talking out of your ass
