very very unlikely caps agree to let him even talk to mcphee. he has been the scouting director for the past 16 years and responsible for every caps draft pick. all those late 1st round gems were from mahoney.

friedman mentions a mcphee friendship but maclellan has been on the caps for 14 years too. i would be very surprised if caps agree to let him talk
