The future looks good for the dcore. Not much for prospects upfront.

Gotta be careful with that stuff, Malkin sees that he will slap a stick at the kids face

Yes, and he did that **** on purpose. You can choose not believe it but I am going to give one of the greatest goal scorers of all the time the benefit of the doubt.

It was never our biggest strength in the Ovechkin era. Who knows, maybe being loaded at the blue line gives more freedom to the skilled forwards on the team?

It was a pass to Wilson that ended up going in the net. Lucky goals count as much as the normal ones, no one will complain.

Its nice to see us wisely managing our D prospects these days. It sucked having to burn picks to buy more time for Djoos and Bowey to keep cooking but it was nice to see Brian act without burning 2nd rounders, like George would have. They both got into a ton of games and should be better for it in the long term. What's a few more picks committed to D?

    I am digging JJs game

Of course I'd prefer both like the Bruins, but if you could only have one I'd rather have the D prospects. Not to mention the best goalie prospect in the game.

Anyway, game/shame, lets talk important stuff.

No goals for McD (2 games left), Laine (3 games) or Staal (3 games) tonight. Seguin and Karlsson have 3 to go, Malkin has 2.

Three goal lead doesn't feel like enough, but it's better than two. ;)

Caps are tied with TO at 103 pts. We hold tiebreaker with 5 more ROWs. Bruins or Bolts are likely to come out of the other bracket, but it'd be nice to have home ice if we get to ECF.

    Yes, although unlikely.
The minute TO got a few points ahead of the Caps their haughty fans started chirping about how the Caps would be 4th in the Atlantic

    I love it :D

Me too, especially in the D zone, which I wasn't expecting. Kempny seems like Jekyll and Hyde in his own zone, but JJ has been mostly solid. And that pass to Chiasson was perfect.

I’m traveling so i’ve been unable to watch the last couple games. Did he appear to be skating okay the rest of the game tonight after going down early?

I wonder whether he may sit for a game or two now, to rest up and heal up for playoffs? If not for the Rocket race, keeping him out would seem like the obvious, safe play for the team.

But maybe coaches - and Ovie himself - would prefer he keep playing, to keep his timing and to stay sharp.

Nice win by the Caps. Pretty unexpected, TBH.

Nice to see Ovie score his 46th and nice to see Backstrom get his 20th. Also, a bit of depth scoring which will be needed in the playoffs.

Holtby looked pretty good. That’s very encouraging.

    Way

Seriously are you suggesting we have little chance to reach the ECF, or if we do it will most likely be vs Bs or Bolts?
And if the latter, why so little faith in the mighty Leafs? :snide:
