Agree. Don't love Kempny's game but he's alright.

Bowey just wasn't ready. Kudos to GMBM for recognizing that early.

I think GMBM deserves some props.

Kempny didn't impress me at first but he seems to be styling in. I think I like Jerabeks game a bit better.

I agree, and I like that Djoos is our 7 D. In a pinch he's pretty good for a 7D.

Vrana had a few opportunities tonight that I liked, but he's too inconsistent.

Heh. I thought people were upset that GMBM “threw away” draft picks for a couple of d-men no one had heard of?

I'm more confident in our D now, and they've made the goalies job easier these days. We all know that we will rely heavily on our goalies if we want to win a playoff round or more (as most teams do), but it won't be the shooting gallery we had in January.

Ovi gave two sticks there. The other kid in the background is holding an Ovi stick.

I'm actually excited looking forward too. Djoos and Bowey will both be excellent in due time. Dare I say in the next few years our defense will likely be our strength?

I hope it will be our strength, we drafted almost exclusively defensemen for the past 3 years. Waiting for Johansen, Bowey, Djoos, Hobbs and Siegenthaler to battle for spots.

I meant the guy on the other side with the white hat. He's holding an Ovi stick.

I would say about 10% - classic trying too hard. A big part of the game is staying healthy and masking it playing through so no one takes your job. Hopefully he crushes the protein shakes this summer. Laich used to say, if a guy is playing like crap he is injured.

I still like Djoos and think he will be a big part of next year. Hopefully Bowey takes another step and does the same. Would be nice to have a solid 5/6 pair on their contracts

If Djoos doesn't add some strength he could end up being the odd man out in a couple years.

Absolutely...no slight on either. Future full time Caps IMO.

Any of them could. Very little separation IMO.

Doesn't matter who the odd man out is, I just want us to have multiple options for the future.

And maybe Holt's could use more rest than he thought.

And not for nothing but Bowey didn't just go up to Hershey and pout. 2-6-8 in nine games with the Bears.

Yeah defense won't be a problem in the future, Carlson or no Carlson.
