Sven Baertschi, one little body contact and he leaves feeling sick.
Sound familiar? Concussion symptoms, dizzy, fever (sometimes), upset stomach.
He had back to back concussions at the end of last year and each one after is easier and magnified.
Maybe it was just the flu but right after being bumped/hit?

Eff eff eff on Edler............Our team just isn't good enough to sustain these types of injuries. I was hoping to live under the delusion that we were not a horrible team at least for a few months or so. This certainly isn't going to help that :(

so 14-20 games missed for Edler. what else is new?

can not get by with Tanev, Edler, and Gudbranson at the top of the lineup defensively. Del Zotto looks to get hurt with regularity as well.

This is to be expected. If we were in a position to compete for and in the playoff, this would be a setback, but as it is, it just means more opportunity for Stetcher, Hutton and Del Zotto and maybe a chance to see if Travis Green can turn around Pouliot's trajectory.

There could even be a silver lining if we are out of the playoff picture by January, maybe Dim Jim might not sell the farm at the TDL to save his job.

Edler out isn't the end of the season. It's significant but also opens the door for changes. Canucks might find good fits for some of Edler's minutes and take some of the pressure off him?

They could just get lucky. I love Edler and he is a horse but he doesn't enhance the offense from the point. He is no Salo. Canucks have some offensive defensemen. Somebody has to draw in.

So Eriksson joins Edler on the injured list.....but that's what happens to players over 30....the injuries start piling up....Sedins are really the exception rather than the rule. But that Eriksson signing has the potential to be the worst UFA signing in team history.

The conventional wisdom was that Eriksson would score at a decent pace early in the six year deal, but that Canucks would have to accept a drop-off by the he hit 35.....but can you imagine now what that deal will look like by then?....Egawd!
