He hasn't been good enough to this point in his career to warrant more than the 10-12 minutes a night he has gotten, but evaluating his offensive potential based on his streaks both bad and good probably skews the metric. If he can lock down 13-15 minutes a night based on improvement in his play, his offense will probably be more consistent. It's tough to do a lot with a little in terms of TOI for a developing player. I think we obviously saw flashes of what he is capable of when he's at his best. If we can get that player even half the time we've got something worth keeping. I personally think he's capable, others not so much. That's fine, but he's not a guy you evaluate on points alone. He's one of the more willing physical players we have and he's improving defensively. He's a decent 4th liner as of who he was on game 82 for us even if he's capped his potential. I think he has more, though.

Maybe I'm a little too bearish, but I don't see him as more than a 4th liner on a good team. I think of him as a future Maxim Lapierre; a guy that played in parts of 10 seasons as a 4th liner capable of putting up 15-20 points per season, killing penalties and being a ****-stirrer on the ice.

Really, that's fine. He's getting paid like a 4th liner so if that's all he pans out to be, then he's being paid correctly.

Agree with this...and I think he'll be a very good 4th liner who will play up from time to time. I don't think 25 to 30 points is unreasonable simply from the fact that if Ryan or Wallmark are centering that line, the play won't die on their sticks. Both can get a pass through to an open player. McGinn can bury some of those feeds.

It is curious that we haven't heard anything about a PDG deal, but Francis is nothing if not methodical.

The problem is that we already have way too much 4th liners penciled in the lineup: Ryan, McGinn, PDG, Nordstrom.

Since when is PDG penciled into the lineup? And you know one of these clowns winds up with Jordan because that's the life he lives.

At least three of these worthless ***holes should be hanged and disemboweled in the town square to the joyous screams of the commoners

I'd rather have McGinn than "let's see what's behind Door #3". So in that sense, I'm quite happy to have him locked in and hopefully we'll keep him around until we have enough depth not to need that sort of player anymore.

Hang on guys.

If we start shooting our players, do we still get to use their cap hits? Because we're going to need their cap hits.

I love him. Think he's definitely going to play a role this year if he stays healthy. I'll second Vagrants prediction of 15 goals. He's got it in him.

Sadly, no. That's exactly why decapitation is one term used for execution.

So, absolutely no hang on, guys. Hang off. We have to make it look like accidents.

It's either here or Chip Alexander. The air is better in here.

Analysis by Chip Alexander:

Brock McGinn storms down the crease, lifts his right leg, and sneaks the puck past a sprawling Anders Nilsson. It was McGinn's second goal of the night.

Ron Francis, general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, re-signed the same McGinn to a 2 year deal valued at $875,000 per year. "Brock took a big step forward last season", Francis said.

Brock McGinn, an ice hockey winger, scored 7 goals and earned 9 assists last year, making for a total of 16 points. The Carolina Hurricanes are hoping that McGinn scores even more points next year.

McGinn skated in 57 games last year and was drafted in the second round in 2012. He is a solid 6'0", bringing that size that the Hurricanes will utilize next year. He has red hair and is a good skater. Coincidentally, he has two brothers who are also NHL ice hockey players.

With Chip, it's like breathing air that's been recycled through the AC for months. In contrast, the air here reeks of dejection and sarcasm, with faint hints of both hope and alcoholism.

So yeah, Bub's onto something.
