No, Kaski was quite good in our system after struggling in Detroit's for some reason. He has a cannon of a shot, too. He just chose to go back to the KHL for now because the Canes are seven-deep at the NHL level ATM. Seems to have paid off with a Gagarin Cup, so good for him. I know that Canes actually still qualified him in RFA in case that he wanted to come back and try making the NHL again with us. Maybe they give him another call if/when Skjei is taken in the expansion draft just to see if he wants to try to make the roster next season.
