Should look ALOT like the Under-18 team we had in March/April (cant remember when the tourney was). i think only 2 players from last year is eligible to come back, and one of them is Crosby (who I dont see coming back).

It will be similar but not close to the same.

They'll have a few players from that club for sure though.. probably up to 8

I have something similar, but ROGERS?! If he makes the team, I'll cry.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Price
Dubnyk

Barker
Fistric
Staal
Parent
Bourdon
Jackson
Mikkelson

Brule
Chipchura
Bolland
Wolski
O'Marra
Boyd
Bourret
Pouliot
McCardle
Wolski
Comeau
Little
Chucko
Bass

I haven't seen all of the forwards before though, so after seeing them this weekend I'll have a better idea of who to expect to fill in the 10-13 or so forward spots.

Sutter focused on players

http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/news_story.asp?id=133083

Coach Brent Sutter says he's more interested in evaluating the 44 players attending the world junior team development camp than worrying about the one who isn't here.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=132538

Hockey Canada announced on Friday that forward Sidney Crosby will be unable to attend Canada's 2006 National Junior team development camp in Whistler and Vancouver, BC, August 10-16 because of commitments to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I like your roster, good mix of skill and grit on offense and the defense looks solid. Id have Julien Elis Plante in goal ahead of Price as well

Hopefully Mikkelson makes it. Then a Duck prospect yet again makes it. I'll definetely have a tough time at this WJC. Even though I'm Canadian, I'll definetely be tempted to cheer for the States team with Bobby Ryan on it.

Does anyone think Kris Russel has even an outside shot at making the team? I know he's very small for a defenseman(in fact, he's quite small for any position), but he does move the puck and skate well.

However, it seems there are just too many quality defensemen in front of him.

If Barker makes the team, which he will, then Kris Russell should be there too. Ask any Medicine Hat fan who their best defenseman was and more will say Russell than Barker. I've seen it first hand. I can see Comeau and Downie being on the same line and that could be fun to watch. Comeau just better be disciplined and play a full 60 minutes, not just 2 periods.

The goaltenders shone in the first intersquad game according to an article in The Province.

Team Red took it 3-2.

Comeau, Downie and McGrath scored for them and Ellis-Plante saved 24 of 26 shots for the win.

Cogliano and Gagnon scored for Team White while Dubnyk saved 35 of 38 shots.
