Here is how I would have them set up

Nash-Thornton-Heatley
Gagne-Sakic-Iginla
Karyia-Richards-St.Louis
Smyth-Primeau-Bertuzzi (IF not allowed to play - Doan)

spares: Tanguay,Lecavalier

Sorry but no lemieux...I just don't think he will be healthy enough.

Pronger-Jovanovski
Niedermayer-Aucoin
Redden-Blake

spare:Regehr,Foote

Brodeur
Belfour
Thedore

And if it were not for Sakic Ryan Smyth would be my captain...the guy plays for team Canada any time they ask and pours his heart into the game more then anyone else I've seen.

Here is my 26 man roster

Kariya - Lemieux - St-Louis
Heatley - Sakic - Iginla (Iginla and Sakic were great togehter at SLC)
Gagné - Primeau - Smyth (Gagné and Primeau are doing well together and Smyth gotta be there)
Nashi - Thornton - Doan
Extras: Tanguay, Bertuzzi (If not avaliable, Lecavalier), Richards (Richards gotta have some consideration)

Niedermayer - Bouwmeester (After the WC they got together, they MUST be paired)
Blake - Foote (Colorado team mates)
Pronger - Redden
Extras: Jovanovski, Brewer

Brodeur
Luongo (Would be the starter if Brodeur didn't won the gold for us in 2002)
Théodore

What I'd like to see:

Kariya - Sakic - Iginla
Heatley- Thornton - Bertuzzi
Smyth - Primeau - St. Louis
Gagne - Lemieux - Cooke

Lots of great players are left off, but they can't all be included.

Niedermayer - Pronger
Blake - Jovo
Redden - Foote
extra: Aucoin

I wish Schnieder was Canadian...

Brodeur
Luongo
Theodore

I change my mind every day slightly, but this is a rough idea of what I like.

GAME 1 AUGUST #! vs. USA in MONTREAL

STARTING GOALTENDER: Martin Brodeur (no doubt)
BENCH BACKUP: Ed Belfour (experience, 2002 alumni, 2004 playoff run)
PLAIN CLOTHES: Roberto Luongo (soak up the atmosphere, future no.1)

DEFENSE: Pronger-Blake (can't beat that)
Niedermayer-Foote (2002 alumni, solid 2004 seasons, nice offense/defense blend)
Brewer-Jovanovski (2002 alumni, up-and-comers)
PLAIN CLOTHES: Bouwmeester (impressive 03-04 WC, future stud)
Regehr (deep 2004 playoff run)
OFF TEAM, BUT No.9: Brad Stuart (very close 'tween him and Reghr)

FORWARD LINE 1: Kariya-Sakic-Iginla
(THE line, chemistry Sak/Igi 2002, Sak/Kar 2004 Avs)
LINE 2: St.Louis-Lecavalier-Lemieux
(the Quebec-connection 2 of possible 6 games in Montreal)
LINE 3: Heatley-Thornton-Bertuzzi
(smash line, the 'black aces', if suspension holds replace Bertuzzi in August)
LINE 4: Nieuwendyk-Primeau-Yzerman
(checking, experience, leadership, specialists, if Stevie Y injured replace in August)
PLAIN CLOTHES LINE 5: Smyth (2002 alumni, 6-time WC, Kevin Lowe influence, grit)
Marleau (deep 2004 playoffs)
Gagne (2002 alumni Hitchcock has made him a more complete player)
OFF TEAM, BUT No.16: Doan (injury status?, Excellent Bertuzzi replacement)
OFF TEAM, BUT No.17: Tanguay (stellar 2004, Excellent injury reserve)

Lecavalier will be on a short leash, but starts tournament in his hometown. If I'm Quinn I'd go on a hunch and gamble with a highly skilled Quebec line for games 1 and 2 in Montreal and make adjustments after that as needed to add more grit (Smyth, Marleau/Doan).

Heatley, Thornton and Bertuzzi together is a scary thought... for the rest of the world.

Of course you're more qualified than Team Canada's brass... :shakehead

Also, Jacques Martin did the Montreal - Tampa Bay scouting for team Canada, so you probably got better judgement than him too concerning guys like Theodore, Lecavalier...
