Sakic has worn 91 a number of times in the past and I’m sure felt no need to change.

In terms of the numbers for Team Canada.....There is only 1 person who has an absolutely questionable number that no one knows where it may have come from and that's Lecavalier (# 40).

As long as I can remember, when Sakic dons the Canadian colors it's a #91 on his back, Richards wear 39 when playin nationally also.

I'd assume it goes by seniority, and as for Lecavalier, he shouldn't be wearing a defenseman's number to begin with, he deserves 40
