:propeller If Staal, Savard, Spezza, McCabe, Turco are all left off this roster...like it appears they may, the Canadian Braintrust better have some answers should Canada not win Gold. Loyalty has put Brodeur(whose having a very sub-par season), Pronger, Foote, Bertuzzi, Draper...all players having poor years...as almost automatics on this team. All these players won Gold in 2002. This is 2006. Acknowledgement to the top players of today appears to be a secondary issue.

Bertuzzi was not there in '02, actually.
And 29 points in 33 games isn't exactly a poor year, especially when you are a 245 lbs. winger who hadn't played for an extended period. Bertuzzi has really found his game in the past few weeks and should help Team Canada immensely, IMO.
I'll take Bertuzzi over 3 of the 4 skaters you have listed there (Spezza is the exception), and I'm sure Hockey Canada will, too.

McCabe and team canada should never be metioned in the same sentance. Unless that sentence is about him not being on team canada.

Draper wasn't on the 2002 squad was he? I know Peca was.

Nope.

Draper won gold at the 2003 and 2004 World Championships.

The checking line in 2002 was Fleury, Lindros and Nolan. Peca spelled Lindros out I think at times.

Looks good! Also would be nice to have 3 Marc Savards on injury reserve. That way the other Marc Savards would easily adjust in case of a replacement.

There will be some tough decisions for head coach Marc Savard, but he could enlist his assistants Marc Savard and Marc Savard to run practises while he discussess lineup changes with GM Marc Savard.

I heard someone named M. Savard was going to be picked as the goalie coach...

Wait, hold on, I'm getting the details....

Yes, the full name is Marc Savard.

If Savard played in the western conference he'd be second in conference scoring only to Joe Thornton.

Then he could be named to BOTH the East AND West all-star teams.

Haha that reminded me of those old school EA games where you could make custom teams, that I liked to make up with entire rosters of Michael Jordan and whatnot :P

Not to mention odds of favourite to win the Hart, Art Ross, Selke, Norris, Conn Smythe, Vezina, Jennings, and Jack Adams awards.

The guy is truly an inspiration to play with. Kovalchuk and Hossa should be so lucky to play with this legend.

He is?
Playing in a division and conference where points are a little easier to come by have certainly padded Marc's stats this year. Playing with Kovalchuk and Hossa hasn't hurt, either.
But it has not helped his lack of foot speed, his lack of desire, or his weak work ethic.
I realize that Morrison is underperforming a bit this year, .
But Morrison is still a far better skater, penalty-killer and leader than Marc Savard will ever be. And while I acknowledge that Savard is an offensive specialist, keep in mind that over their careers Savard has .77 points per game, Morrison has .73, so the difference isn't huge by any stretch.

I just can't wait til he retires and number "9" joins "99" as numbers retired by the whole league. They already have the blueprints for the Marc Savard wing of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
