First big move of 2015.

Great move by Hufnagel.

btw, can we sticky this thread?

I think, given the amount of traffic the Stamps threads get, we can have them all as one. I'll update the title of this thread and make sure it's in the megathread.

EDIT: Actually, on the other hand, I'll make this the Stamps official 2015 thread, not just the off-season thread. I'll leave 2014 as its own thing.

Can you give me some insight into teh guys we got? Because to me losing Mo' is huge.

I don't know much about the guys we got either, but I trust Huff. He always has such an amazing pulse on when to get guys and when to cut them loose. Price seems to have somewhat of an attitude, and he's not the most durable guy out there. But there is no denying his game breaking ability which is among the best in the league at WR position.

Simmons was Ottawa's best player on D, leading the team in tackles. Good player.

Buckner, I don't know anything about but from what I've read, he's a promising prospect. Plus he brings size.

Price won't be a big loss for us. He's a very talented player, but he hasn't lived up to his big contract and is injury prone. The Stamps dealt from a position of strength. The writing was on the wall when he was made a healthy scratch for the West Final. Plus the Stamps free up $$$ to spend on better players (ie. Jones and Lemon, if their NFL tryouts don't work out for them).

Confirmed today the Stamps re-signed Tater-tot.

http://www.stampeders.com/article/drew-tate-signs-extension

I still like Bo over him for starter, but it is an amazing luxury to have such a high quality backup QB and we have shown a couple years in a row now that unless you are very lucky it is a necessity. I am glad that Tate didn't let his ego get the better of him and he is willing to stay in Calgary battling for playing time.

In other news, two of our linemen Jones and Lemon are doing tryouts for the Steelers; will be sad if we loose them - especially Jones who had a monster season.

Tate obviously knows a good situation when he sees it. This extension is good for both sides. Having a quality backup behind Mitchell is important.

Sad to see Jones and Lemon go, but all the best to them. Both deserving of their shot in the NFL.

Hard to believe Lemon was once deemed not good enough to play in Edmonton.

Different sport, but I mean, Glencross and Smid...
Something in the Edmonton water supply that simply just doesn't let them see where the talent lies.

Looks like they are just going down their offseason shopping list this month, at this pace should be all ready to go before the end of Feb!

Congrats to Hufnagel on winning Coach of the Year.

Best part of Huff's speech:

"Chris, I was going to come down from here and shake your hand, but instead I'm just going to wave to you from here."

Awesome!

CFL free agency got under way this morning.

So far in Stampeders news, Brad Sinopoli has signed with the Ottawa Redblacks.

The Redblacks also signed National receiver Brad Sinopoli.

Also, Brett Jones is NFL bound. Sounds like it's the NY Giants. That one hurts, but all the best to him.

http://www.tsn.ca/report-jones-to-sign-with-giants-1.203346

As first reported by Gary Lawless of TSN Radio 1290 and the Winnipeg Free Press, Calgary Stampeders centre Brett Jones will be signing with an NFL club shortly.

TSN's Chris Cuthbert reported he's hearing Jones will sign with the New York Giants, a team he worked out for earlier in the off-season.
