Florida collecting Finnish centerman

Barkov
Borgstrom
Heponiemi

And the other thing that each of them has in common is extremely skilled hands. Seems that Florida wants their centermen to systematically be able hold on to the puck well and buy time for their wingers. Of course not a bad way to think of hockey.

Heponiemi is on fire.
Aleksi had another 4 point ( 1+3) game vs Kootenay Ice in last night's WHL game.
In 5 WHL regular season games this year Heponiemi is scored 17 points ( 2+15) and his PPG is 3,40

Scored 2 points ( 1+1) vs Moose Jaw Warriors in last night's WHL game.
Heponiemi's stats after 6 games are now 3+16 = 19 points and PPG 3,16

This kid scored an insane goal the other day, I don't know how to embed videos but somebody should. It's worth checking out.

This kid and Steenbergern have crazy good chemistry. Their stats from last year together paint the picture of what could be to come this year.

Heponiemi - 72gp - 28 goals - 50 assists - 86 points
Steenbergen - 72gp - 51 goals - 39 assists - 90 points

This year already..

Heponiemi - 7gp - 4 goals - 16 assists - 20 points
Steenbergen - 7gp - 15 goals - 6 assists - 21 points

Heponiemi is on pace for 165 assists which would break the WHL Single Season Assist record by 29 set by Rob Brown in 86/87.
Steenbergen is on pace for 154 goals which would break the WHL Single Season Goal record by 46 set by Ray Ferraro in the 83/84 season.

Both are on pace to be top 5 in single season points. It's highly unlikely they continue this pace for the whole season by both played all 72 games last year and with some luck and the complete effort they have been putting in every night they are within reach at this point for the first time in a long time.
Watching them play you can tell they have insane chemistry.

luv his game, sees and feels the ice so well. Very reminiscent of Nick Backstrom. Hope he pans out. Will be fun to watch
