don’t be too surprised to see this happen……

starting season set up

Dahlin-Jokiharju
Samuelsson-Clifton
Power-EJ
Stillman-Lyubushkin

after 20 games…

Samuelsson-Dahlin
Power-Clifton
Stillman-Jokiharju
Lyubushkin

EJ could be sent down thru waivers to mrntor some other young Dmen

buffalo trades Lyub/Jokiharju at deadline thrn thry call EJ back up as 7D

if they trade Jokiharju/ Lyubudhkin to acquire a top 4 RD like say Pesce then thst top 4 would pair with Dahlin to start thrn drop to second pair and Clifton to 3rd pair and Jokiharju/ Lybushkin not traded become the bottom pair/ spare D.

with Stillman to remember— hr previous played in Florida ( I think) thst was in a D system very similar to the one Granato is using in buffalo and he did well in Florida.
Stop posting this bs about it being a possibility EJ gets sent down. there's a 0.0000% chance that's happening and it's absurd to even suggest it. Here's here all year to play the bottom pairing / 7, mentor OP on and off the ice and be a great stable veteran for the kids. Sabres have a hard enough time getting respect from vets from the last decade they would not f*** over another one when they're just repairing their image.

Seems like the D version of when they signed Craig Anderson. A good mentor in the locker room.

Hope that's the case.

Because he in reality has no other value to the team, especially one that's trying to get into the post-season in a very tough division.

Jokiharju on the top pairing D ? In Biden's voice, "Come on Man"

Yeah, But most Sabres fan are not understanding what Adams wanna do. He sign 1 year deals because his goal is not now. He Will develope the drafted players and when they are ready for it he Will go for it. Of course he is overpaid but its because sabres Will not go to the cap anyways and dont wanna long term anyone before having their team drafted on the ice. I think this was great . Hopefully long term power and Dahlin now
Adam's will Never go for it.

He Will, but why go for it when havent reach the playoffs even ? See Florida they reached the stanley cup finals was 1 point from them . But we havent that much space when knowing we need resigning Peterka quinn power Dahlin the other kids Down the road in Savoie benson Kulich Levi . So its not so good signing someone 7-8 years 6-8 mil then no space for the drafted players. It go against the building through the draft. We Can add what we lack in the future.

Former 1st overall to go with Dahlin ?

Buffalo 9 D deep so likely move one ?

Johnson definitely isn’t playing with Dahlin lol. They might move somebody, or they might just go into the season with some depth to cover for inevitable injuries.

Just saying they are both 1st overalls

Also Power. Pretty certain this is the first time anyone has had 3 1st overalls on their defense. (Only 2 of them actually exhibit the talent associated with that draft slot at this point, but still a neat bit of hockey trivia.)

I thought he was close to retiring last year due to a knee issue?

Anyhow. I knew he was the longest tenured Avs player, didn't realize its been like 12 years.

Great leader and will help with the young players in Buffalo.

Absolutely cannot play top 4 minutes anymore. Pure bottom pairing defenseman. He is in pain skating most of the time. Those knees and hips are really, really bad.
Well, we'll find out real fast, because the Sabre forwards and prospects will be testing those knees and hips at training camp(I kinda feel bad for their invite goalies). One year deal, and money don't matter. Worst case scenario, you send him to a contender for comp if he's not done. There's nothing bad about this deal, except Terry's cash.
