I hope "join the team" means "play some games" and not just travel with them, but sounds like he is improving. It's been three weeks.I take this as meh news and excellent news
They probably don't want Backes ripping his stitches in a game.

Yes I wonder about Chara. But I think it's no rush for Bergy or Backes as long they get a few games in before the playoffs

I'm worried about Chara, but also worried about McAvoy - what's the deal with him? I want him healthy sooner rather than later....
As far as Bergeron, they might take him on the trip not with the intention of him playing, but with the intention of getting some practice in. I remember thinking 6 weeks (my wild-ass guess/hope as to when he'd almost definitely be ready to play) put him out to almost exactly the end of the season, but 4 weeks is a reasonable time to at least reevaluate him. It's probably easier for him to hop (literally and/or figuratively) on Bear Force One on Tuesday rather than to fly commercial to catch up with the team whenever he's actually ready to practice.

When the season is written in stone, it may turn out that it was the oft injured (since the start of the season) Boston Bruins that got healthy at the right time and made a cup run....

But it's encouraging to see him skating like that, surely they wouldn't have him skating only on his right foot if there were still concerns about the bone.
