I don't think Skjei was given that kind of ice time to "showcase" for a trade or something. He played a bunch on the PK, IIRC. That inflates his time.

Come on guys...

Skjei was only called up to spell Staal for a game who tweaked something. This game was a big improvement from his first two (albeit I still think he played well in his first game), so hopefully this will be another learning experience, and he'll be ready to solidify a place for himself in the lineup later this season or next season.

If anything Skjei shows you he can replace Staal not Yandle. He's a shutdown dman pker those are Staal mins he can eat. You see that performance as a GM your brain should tell u to deal Staal and sign Yandle

I dont think management is ready to make that bet after 3 games of Skjei (and only 1 good one) thank goodness.

BRB is 100% right here.

Skjei isn't ready to take a full-time role here. Next season.

But the original poster never said this year. He just said he was Staals replacement and not Yandles... Which is the correct statement.

Except for the fact that the poster goes deeper saying it shows the Rangers should deal Staal and sign Yandle, implying that it is for this season.

Why would you infer that? They can always sign Yandle and trade Staal any time over the summer. The draft occurs before the UFA period starts.

It doesn't have to be for this season.

Brady played well. He will be on our left side next season if not sooner.

Why do young guys like Del Zotto and John Moore play well in Philly and NJ but not here?

Because those teams stink and they can screw up and learn from their mistakes. Torts wasn't really about that (nor should he have been since we were in more of a win-now mode)
