You missed the key condition ”not a defensive liability”. I am not proposing “a guy who can just be tough”.

This team needs some physical players who can intimidate opposing teams with their physical play and be very difficult to play against (not a defensive liability).

Right now this team is too soft. Conn Smith got it right!

Sure it would be great to have a team composed of great offensive talent, but that would be expensive. I would like to see some more physical players on this team. Plus some PK specialists on the 4th Line.
A young Chris Neil would be great, otherwise I would be fine with Reeves, whose size & toughness can be very intimidating. In fact, I can remember when he was with St Louis in a game he intimidated the Sens who never responded after several big hits & were beaten soundly.

McCormick literally has the lowest salary allowable... it's pretty slip pickings at that salary. You got McCormick, Paul and O'Brien, none of which stand out from one another.
Paul is huge & easily stands out at any party while McCormick is not tall but he is a pretty good scrapper & JOB seems to have developed into a pretty good AHL player.

I'm not sure why they have turned Paul into a LWer, IMO he could be a very good 4th line centre. He was good at faceoffs in junior, he is good defensively, he's big & strong & can skate & just needs to develop a mean streak or play with more of an edge. I always hoped he could turn into a Paul Gaustad kind of 4th line centre for the Sens who could also chip in offensively occasionally & dominate in the faceoff circle.
