I get to watch tonight. I will be real interested to see how Orpik measures up in this one. Has he been a 5 playing above his slot or is he playing like a legit top 4 again? Tonight would tend to be a good measuring stick on that

The Bolts could be our first round opponent this year if we make the playoffs. This is a statement game, we need to beat them.

Why is it a statement game? We beat the pens all the time in the regular season and it means nothing.

Also so can ten other teams. A win and we barely behind division lead again

We need to show that we still have the ability to be on par with a team like Tampa. Beating Pittsburgh means nothing because they're a completely different team in the regular season.

We barely lost to them earlier this year. Besides if we do beat Tampa is that going to magically inspire us that we can beat them in playoffs? :)

They're the best team in the league and we've had their number in the past few years. They have a target on their back just like we did last year and the year before. You want to bring your best against the best, it's as simple as that. It's also good for our confidence to beat them now if we ever find ourselves against them in the playoffs.

Is Graovac playing? If so, where? Who sits? I hope Connolly? Probably Chiasson?

Have we seen the lines yet? I'd like to see Eller w Oshie, assuming Wilson is with Ovechkin-Backstrom.

Caps are currently in the wildcard spot, Pens in the other. Both have played 23 games, 25 points.
NYR has played 22 games, and is 1 point behind us.
CAR, BOS, and OTT are 3 points behind us, they've each played 3 games fewer than us.
Caps are 1pt behind the NYI, who have played 2 fewer games, (they also beat Tampa earlier in the week). All of these teams are playing today, this is a big game. We play TOR tomorrw, our record on the end of back to backs isn't good. We gotta start getting those points. 4-3 Caps.

Ya the East division is very tight. If we can string a few wins together we could be contending for the division lead.

Pens with 0 points, that's good.
Toronto will also play tonight. Start @ 7.30 IN Raleigh
and Holts will be in the net.

At some point Orpik is gonna get sat down, right? Or are they gonna keep him in the lineup so they don't tank his trade value anymore?
